Learn how to set up and use Wi-Fi calling and connection preferences on the Samsung Galaxy Note9.

 

Turn on & connect

To use Wi-Fi calling, you must first register an E911 address and turn on Wi-Fi to connect to a Wi-Fi network.

  1. Register your E911 address at My T-Mobile. 
    • Click the link to go right to your Line Settings page.
    • If you’re already logged in, click your name, then click Profile > Line Settings.
  2. Turn on Wi-Fi.
  3. From the Home screen, swipe up on an empty spot to open the Apps tray.
  4. Tap Settings > Connections.
  5. If necessary, tap the Wi-Fi switch to turn on.
  6. Tap More connection settings > Wi-Fi Calling.
  7. Slide the Wi-Fi switch to turn on.
  8. Select the Wi-Fi preferred or Never use Cellular Network to turn on Wi-Fi calling.

 

Set connection preference

  1. Turn on Wi-Fi and connect to a Wi-Fi network.
  2. From the Home screen, swipe up on an empty spot to open the Apps tray.
  3. Tap Settings > Connections.
  4. If necessary, tap the Wi-Fi switch to turn on.
  5. Tap More connection settings.
  6. Tap Wi-Fi Calling, then select desired option:
    • Wi-Fi Preferred
    • Cellular Network Preferred
    • Never use Cellular Network
