Clear cache / cookies / history

Android version 8.0.0

  1. From any home screen, tap Chrome.
  2. Tap Menu > Settings > Privacy > Clear browsing data.
  3. Select desired Clear data from the interval:
    • past hour
    • past day
    • past week
    • last 4 weeks
    • beginning of time
  4. Select the options to clear:
    • Browsing history
    • Cookies and site data
    • Cached images and files
    • Saved passwords
    • Autofill form data
  5. When finished, tap CLEAR DATA.
  6. If prompted tap OK, GOT IT to the Cleared Chrome data pop-up message.

Android version 7.1.2

  1. From any home screen, tap Apps > Chrome.
  2. Tap the Menu icon, then tap Settings > Advanced > Privacy > CLEAR BROWSING DATA.
  3. Select the options to clear:
    • Cache images and files
    • Cookies & Site data
    • Browsing History
    • Saved passwords
    • Autofill form data
  4. Tap OK.

Open / close tabs / windows

  1. From any home screen, tap Chrome.
  2. To open a tab, tap Menu > New tab.
  3. To close a tab, tap the boxed number in the upper left corner of the window to display open tabs then tap the X in the upper left-hand corner of the window.

Set default storage

By default, the device stores data in internal storage. You can change it to use the SD card (when inserted).

  1. From any home screen, tap Camera.
  2. Tap the Camera settings icon.
  3. Tap Storage, then select either option:
    • SD card
    • Internal storage

Android version 7.1.2

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Camera.
  3. Tap the Camera settings icon.
  4. Choose one of the following options:
    • Internal storage
    • SD card

Turn on / off JavaScript

Android version 8.0.0

  1. From any home screen, Chrome.
  2. Tap Menu > Settings > Advanced > Site settings.
  3. Tap JavaScript.
  4. Tap the JavaScript switch to enable or disable.

Android version 7.1.2

  1. From any home screen, tap Apps > Chrome.
  2. Tap the Menu icon, then tap Settings > Advanced > Site settings.
  3. Set JavaScript to one of the following options:
    • Allowed
    • Not allowed
