First-time use

When you first turn on your new device, you might see a setup wizard to help get you started. Take a look at the steps below to walk through the setup process.

  1. Make sure the battery and SIM card are inserted:
  2. Power on the device. When the device powers on, the screen brightness is set at 12% by default. You can change this setting after setting up the device.
  3. Tap English (United States) to change the device language.
  4. Tap Accessibility to adjust accessibility settings.
  5. Tap Next.
  6. If desired, select the Mobile network box to on the Data network.
  7. If desired, select the Wi-Fi check box to turn on Wi-Fi and select a network.
  8. Tap Next.
  9. Perform one of the following actions for an LG account:
    • Tap Keep your apps & data to sign into one of the following account types:
      • Another Android device
      • Your Google Account
      • An iPhone or iPad device
      • Not Sure?
    • Tap Set up as new to create an account. Finish the new account process or tap SKIP > SKIP to not sign in.
  10. Sign into or set up a Google account.
  11. Read through the Google services screen, then tap NEXT.
  12. Enter your Name then tap NEXT.
  13. Choose an option on the Add your fingerprint screen.
    • Set up fingerprint > Select a second method to unlock the phone:
      • Knock Code
      • Pattern
      • PIN
      • Password
    • No, thanks > SKIP ANYWAY
  14. Tap Next.
  15. Select the options to agree to the Legal documents then tap NEXT.
  16. Read the System Manager (Carrier IQ) information and Accept or Decline:
    • To learn more, tap More info.
    • When finished, tap Close.
  17. Choose from the recommended apps screen then tap DOWNLOAD or LATER. The apps will download in the background and you will be taken to the home screen.
  18. Tap DONE.


Transferring data

Sure it's time to say goodbye to your old device, but before you do, don't forget to transfer your pictures, videos, and anything else you might want to keep over to your new device. Take a look at the Set up a new mobile device page
