Emergency alerts

You can turn Emergency Alert messages on or off on your phone.


  1. From the Home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Tap Menu > Settings > Emergency alerts.
  3. Enable or disable the following options:
    • Presidential alert (set to always on and cannot be turned off)
    • Imminent extreme alert (ON/OFF)
    • Imminent severe alert (ON/OFF)
    • AMBER alerts (ON/OFF)
    • Alert sound (ON/OFF)
    • Alert vibration (ON/OFF)
    • Sound and/or vibration during calls (ON/OFF)


Incoming email

  1. From the Home screen, tap Email.
  2. Tap Menu > Settings.
  3. Under ' ACCOUNTS & SYNC,' Tap the email account.
  4. Scroll down to NOTIFICATION settings.
  5. Select or clear the New emails slider.
  6. Tap Notification sound to update.
  7. Select or clear the Sent email sound slider.



Ringtone for all calls

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Tap the 'Sound' tab.
  3. Tap Ringtone.
  4. Tap to select desired ringtone, then OK.


Ringtone for calls from one contact

You cannot assign a ringtone to contacts stored on the SIM card or phone (device memory).


  1. From the Home screen, tap Contacts.
  2. Tap desired contact.
  3. Tap the edit icon.
  4. Tap More > Ringtone.
  5. Tap to select desired ringtone.
  6. Tap OK.
  7. Tap SAVE.
