Learn how to back up and restore apps, contacts, photos, and data on the LG G8 ThinQ.

 

 

 

Back up personal data

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Tap the 'General' tab, then tap Backup > Backup & restore.
  3. Tap Backup.
  4. Select where to save your backup to:
    • Internal storage
    • SD card (if one is inserted)
  5. Select from the following items to back up:
    • Home & lock screens
    • Personal data
    • Media data
    • LG app data
    • Download apps
    • Settings

 

Back up media & pictures

 

From computer - PC

  1. Connect the cable to a compatible USB port on your computer.
  2. Connect the other end of the cable to your mobile device.
  3. Allow your computer to install any required drivers for your device. This process may take a few minutes.
  4. Open Smart Switch on your computer, and allow it to make the connection.
  5. If necessary, follow these steps:
    1. Touch the Status bar and drag it down.
    2. Tap Connected as a media device.
    3. Select the Media device (MTP) check box.
  6. On the computer, click Open device to view files.
  7. Navigate to the desired files on your computer:
    • The Card icon is your SD card.
    • The Phone icon is your device's internal storage.
  8. Drag and drop the files into the desired computer folder.
  9. When finished, safely disconnect the phone from the computer.

 

Restore personal data

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Tap the 'General' tab, then tap Backup > Backup & restore.
  3. Tap Restore.
  4. Select the backup file you want to restore.
  5. Tap Next > Restore.
