Auto-update time (NITZ)

The default setting for your device is to automatically update the time zone. To set the device clock to automatically update based on what time zone it is in, follow these steps:

Android version 8.0.0

  1. From any home screen, swipe left to locate and tap Settings.
  2. Select the General tab or scroll to and tap System > Date & time.
  3. Tap the Auto-date & time switch to the ON setting.
  4. Tap the Auto-time zone switch to the ON setting.
  5. If desired, tap the Use 24-hour format switch to the ON setting.

Android version 7.1.2

  1. From any home screen, tap Apps > Settings.
  2. If using Tab view, select the General tab.
  3. Tap Date & time.
  4. Tap the Auto-date & time switch to the ON setting.
  5. Select the Auto-time zone switch to the ON setting.

Set time & date

Android version 8.0.0

  1. From any home screen, swipe left to locate and tap Settings.
  2. Select the General tab or scroll to and tap System > Date & time.
  3. Tap the Auto-date & time switch to the OFF setting.
  4. Tap Set date.
  5. Enter the date, then tap OK.
  6. Tap Set time.
  7. Enter the time, then tap OK.

Android version 7.1.2

  1. From any home screen, tap Apps > Settings.
  2. If using Tab view, select the General tab.
  3. Tap Date & time.
  4. Tap the Auto-date & time switch to the OFF setting.
  5. Tap Set date, select the date, then tap OK.
  6. Tap Set time, select the time, then tap OK.
  7. Tap the Auto-time zone switch to the OFF setting.
  8. Select the time zone, then tap OK.
