Set up

Android version 8.0.0

  1. From any home screen, swipe left to locate and tap Settings.
  2. Select the Network tab or scroll to and tap Network & internet > Tethering > Mobile HotSpot.
  3. If necessary, tap the Mobile HotSpot switch to ON.
  4. Tap Configure Mobile HotSpot.
  5. Edit the available settings as necessary:
    • Wi-Fi name (SSID)
    • Broadcast SSID
    • Security
    • Password
    • Show password
    • Maximum connections
    • Broadcast channel
    • Auto select
  6. When finished, tap SAVE
  7. Tap Mobile HotSpot turn off timer to select desired setting:
    • After 5 min of inactivity
    • After 10 min of inactivity
    • After 15 min of inactivity
    • After 30 min of inactivity
    • Always stays on
  8. Tap Allowed devices to adjust these settings:
    • Tap the trashcan to delete a device.
    • Tap the + plus sign to add a device.
    • Tap the Allow all devices checkbox to enable or disable.
  9. If desired, tap the Wi-Fi Sharing slider to enable this feature. Wi-Fi sharing lets you share the Internet from a Wi-Fi network instead of mobile data.
  10. If prompted, tap OK.

 

Android version 7.1.2

  1. Turn Wi-Fi off and connect to the T-Mobile network.
  2. From any home screen, tap Apps > Settings.
  3. If using Tab view, select the Networks tab.
  4. Tap Tethering > Mobile HotSpot.
  5. Tap the Mobile HotSpot switch to the ON setting.
  6. When the Configure Mobile HotSpot screen appears, edit the available settings as necessary
    • Wi-Fi name (SSID)
    • Broadcast SSID
    • Security
    • Password
    • Show password
    • Maximum connections
    • Broadcast channel
    • Auto select
  7. When finished, tap SAVE.

 

Turn on / off

Android version 8.0.0

  1. From any home screen, swipe left to locate and tap Settings.
  2. Select the Network tab or scroll to and tap Network & internet > Tethering > Mobile HotSpot.
  3. Tap the Mobile HotSpot switch to ON or OFF.

 

Android version 7.1.2

  1. Turn Wi-Fi off and connect to the T-Mobile network.
  2. From any home screen, tap Apps > Settings.
  3. If using Tab view, select the Networks tab.
  4. Tap Tethering > Mobile HotSpot.
  5. Tap the Mobile HotSpot switch to the ON or OFF setting.
