Set up

Android version 8.0.0

  1. From any home screen, swipe left to locate and tap Settings.
  2. Select the Network tab or scroll to and tap Network & internet > Tethering > Mobile HotSpot.
  3. If necessary, tap the Mobile HotSpot switch to ON.
  4. Tap Configure Mobile HotSpot.
  5. Edit the available settings as necessary:
    • Wi-Fi name (SSID)
    • Broadcast SSID
    • Security
    • Password
    • Show password
    • Maximum connections
    • Broadcast channel
    • Auto select
  6. When finished, tap SAVE
  7. Tap Mobile HotSpot turn off timer to select desired setting:
    • After 5 min of inactivity
    • After 10 min of inactivity
    • After 15 min of inactivity
    • After 30 min of inactivity
    • Always stays on
  8. Tap Allowed devices to adjust these settings:
    • Tap the trashcan to delete a device.
    • Tap the + plus sign to add a device.
    • Tap the Allow all devices checkbox to enable or disable.
  9. If desired, tap the Wi-Fi Sharing slider to enable this feature. Wi-Fi sharing lets you share the Internet from a Wi-Fi network instead of mobile data.
  10. If prompted, tap OK.

Android version 7.1.2

  1. From any home screen, swipe left to locate and tap Settings.
  2. Select Networks tab or scroll to WIRELESS NETWORKS > Tethering > Mobile HotSpot.
  3. If necessary, tap the Mobile HotSpot switch to ON.
  4. Tap Configure Mobile HotSpot.
  5. Edit the available settings as necessary:
    • Wi-Fi name (SSID)
    • Broadcast SSID
    • Security
    • Password
    • Show password
    • Maximum connections
    • Broadcast channel
    • Auto select
  6. When finished, tap SAVE
