The HTC U11 life has anti-theft and may affect how you are able to master reset the device.

Factory reset protection is automatically enabled if both of the following are true:

  • At least one Google account is set up on the device.
  • The device has a screen lock (password, PIN, or lock pattern) enabled.

Once a screen lock and a Google account have been set up, the device is automatically protected against unauthorized factory reset. The reset protection features will be disabled if the Google account is removed from the device or the screen lock is disabled.
