Learn how to use safe mode on the HTC One (M8) using the hardware keys.

 

Turn on and use safe mode

Safe mode allows you to turn on the device with third-party apps disabled. Then you can easily uninstall apps that may be causing a conflict or software problem.

  1. Press and hold the Power key.
  2. On the screen, press and hold Power off under 'Phone Options'.
  3. When the 'Reboot to safe mode' message appears, tap RESTART. When the phone restarts it will be in safe mode.
  4. Uninstall apps that are causing a problem.

 

Turn off safe mode

  1. Press and hold the Power key.
  2. On the screen, tap Restart under 'Phone Options'.
  3. When the 'Restart phone' message appears, tap RESTART. When the phone restarts it will no longer be in safe mode.
