Learn how to use your device on another carrier or wireless provider's network. This may also be known as SIM unlock, network unlock, or carrier unlock.

- [Device Unlock](https://www.t-mobile.com/responsibility/consumer-info/policies/sim-unlock-policy) lets you use your device with another carrier, for things like international travel or selling your device.
- This is different from [Domestic](https://www.t-mobile.com/support/coverage/domestic-roaming-data) or [International](https://www.t-mobile.com/support/coverage/international-roaming-services) roaming, where you use a T-Mobile SIM/eSIM to access a different wireless provider's network.
## [](https://www.t-mobile.com)Check unlock status & eligibility
Once your device is eligible, T-Mobile will automatically unlock the device within two business days if it supports remote unlock.
### T-Mobile.com account
1. Log into [your T-Mobile Account](https://my.t-mobile.com/account/account-overview) and choose the __Accounts__ page.
2. Select the line you wish to unlock, then choose __Check device unlock status__.
3. Under the device image, check if your device is eligible to be unlocked. Review [Device Unlock Policy](https://www.t-mobile.com/responsibility/consumer-info/policies/sim-unlock-policy) for a list of eligibility requirements.
### T-Life / T-Mobile app
1. Open the T-Life / T-Mobile app and choose the __Manage__ tab.
2. Select the line you wish to unlock. You may need to choose __Manage all__ first.
3. View the 'Device lock status' field. Select __Device lock status__ for additional details.
- Under the device image, view your progress toward device unlock eligibility.
- Review [Device Unlock Policy](https://www.t-mobile.com/responsibility/consumer-info/policies/sim-unlock-policy) for a list of eligibility requirements.

Make sure you are connected to the T-Mobile network or Wi-Fi, then select your device type and follow the steps. If your device isn't listed or the steps don't work, choose your device on the [Devices](https://www.t-mobile.com/support/phones-tablets-devices) page for unlock steps or [Contact us](https://www.t-mobile.com/contact-us) for assistance
### Apple iPhone
- To view unlock status, select __Settings__ > __General__ > __About__. If *Carrier Lock* says *No SIM restrictions*, your iPhone is unlocked.
- If you have a locked iPhone that's eligible, [Contact us](https://www.t-mobile.com#heading5) so we can submit the unlock.
### Samsung
1. From your list of apps, choose __Settings__ > __Connections__ > __More Connection Settings__.
2. Select __Network Unlock__ > __Permanent Unlock__, then wait for the unlock to complete.
3. Restart your device.
### Google
1. Make sure you have a T-Mobile SIM inserted or T-Mobile eSIM setup on the device.
2. Access the __Play Store__ and download the __T-Mobile Device Unlock (Pixel) app__.
3. Open the app and choose __Check eligibility__.
4. Select __Permanent Unlock__, then wait for the unlock to complete.
5. Restart your device.
### Motorola
1. From your list of apps, choose __Settings__ > __About Phone__ > __Device Unlock__.
2. Select __Permanent Unlock__, then wait for the unlock to complete.
3. Restart your device.
### LG
1. From your list of apps, choose __Settings__ > __Network & Internet__ > __Mobile Networks__.
2. Select __Network Unlock__ > __Continue__ > __Permanent Unlock__, then wait for the unlock to complete.
3. Restart your device.
### OnePlus
1. From your list of apps, choose __Settings__ > __Wi-Fi & Internet__ > __SIM & network__.
2. Select either __Advanced__ or __Network Unlock__.
3. Choose __Permanent Unlock__, then wait for the unlock to complete.
4. Restart your device.
### Device Unlock App
Some older Android devices have a Device Unlock app preinstalled.
1. From your list of apps, choose __Device Unlock__.
2. Select __Device Unlock__ > __Continue__ and wait for the device to communicate with the server.
3. Choose __Permanent Unlock__, then wait for the unlock to complete.
4. Restart your device.
### Other devices
- Apple iPads, Apple Watches and Samsung Galaxy Watches are sold unlocked.

- Not all devices are compatible with every wireless provider.
