Find and watch videos

Control shows and movies (pause, fast forward, etc.)

After you've found a show or movie to watch, you can do a few things while it's playing - the experience is a slightly different based on the OS you're using:

Fire TV / Android TV experience

  • When you pause on Fire TV / Android TV devices, all the available video options appear: Go live, Play, info, Audio / Subtitle, and Record (only appears in TVision app if you've got the TVision Cloud DVR feature).
  • Go live only appears if Live TV has been paused. If you're already live, the option does not appear.
  • Use the remote to pause, rewind, or fast forward (not available on some videos due to TV network restrictions)

Apple tvOS experience

Apple tvOS relies on the remote control to see options.

  • Press the up arrow on the remote to see options while a video is playing: Go Live, Details, Audio, and Record (only appears in TVision app if you've got the TVision Cloud DVR feature).
  • Go live only appears if Live TV has been paused. If you're already live, the option does not appear.
  • Use the remote to pause, rewind, or fast forward (not available on some videos due to TV network restrictions)

Search

Searching the app provides show/movie results, possible categories to browse, and upcoming items.

  1. From the home screen, select the Search icon.
  2. Enter your keywords for what you want to watch. The following appears:
    • TV shows
    • Individual episodes
    • Movies
  3. Click the desired video that appears.
  4. Click the Play icon (on the image of the show) to start watching.

Guide

Some live shows will appear on your home screen, but you can go to the live guide to find more.:

  1. From the home screen, click Guide.
  2. Browse the shows by network or use the guide.
  3. Click the Play icon (on the image of the show) to start watching.

Using the guide

  • The live guide is like a typical TV guide that lets you see upcoming videos with a grid-like user interface. It shows out to 7 days of future programming.
  • From there, you can pick upcoming items to record (if you've got the TVision Cloud DVR feature) or just browse what will be on later that day.
  • You will see channels that you might not be subscribed to, such as STARZ. If you select the channel, you'll see a not subscribed message. You can upgrade your plan at any time to add more channels.
  • The Live Guide and Airing Next will reflect the local time based on where the device is.
  • You can also click Filter in the guide to narrow videos by category, such as Sport, News, Movies, Kids

Browse shows & movies (On-demand)

On demand videos are based on what the network provides and may change periodically. You can use Search to go right to a page, but here's how you can browse.

  1. From the home page, click the Movies or Shows.
  2. Scroll up and down to see available videos.
  3. Click the show or movie. The video's page appears.
  4. Click the Play button to play the video. If you're looking for additional episodes, you can scroll down to see additional shows/seasons or related videos.
  5. If the video is playing live within the next 7 days, you will see a Record button to save to DVR once it airs.
