T-Mobile has different types of Prepaid plans to fit your needs. Plans listed below are retired and are no longer available to switch to or activate on. Check out our current . There was a change to our Prepaid Essentials plan December 12, 2018. These details only apply to the retired Prepaid Essentials plan. If you switch plans, you won't be able to switch back to the Prepaid Essentials plan.
Prepaid Essentials plan includes:
- Unlimited nationwide talk.
- Unlimited domestic and international messaging (SMS/MMS).
- Unlimited 4G LTE smartphone data.
- Unlimited 3G Smartphone Mobile HotSpot (SMHS).
- Call and text in Mexico and Canada like you do in the US, data speeds are limited to 2G.
- 200 MB domestic data roaming.
- International roaming and calling is available. Check rates.
For an additional fee, you can add these to Prepaid Essentials:
- Mobile without Borders: Up to 5GB 4G LTE data speeds while in Canada & Mexico
- Stateside International calling: You get unlimited calling to landlines in 200+ countries from the US, Mexico, and Canada, as well as unlimited calling and texting to mobile numbers in many countries from the US, Mexico, and Canada.

There was a change to our Pay As You Go plan August 17, 2014. These details only apply to the retired Pay As You Go plan. If you switch plans, you won't be able to switch back to the Pay As You Go–Legacy plan.
This is perfect if you only make or receive a small number of calls or texts each month. The plan includes call waiting and Web Guard.

Pay As You Go is based on a 30-day cycle, regardless of how many days are in each month. Therefore, a new cycle may not necessarily start on the same date each month. Full speeds available up to data allotment, including tethering; then slowed to up to 2G speeds for balance of service period. Usage applied first to on demand passes, next to free data, then monthly Mobile Internet allotment. PayGo: Service available for 30 days after activation/refill/conversion; then account is suspended. If you have a balance, your plan will resume for 30 days with 30 voice min. or SMS messages. After this 30-day period, your account is suspended. If funds available, additional minutes/messages @ $0.10/minute or message. Call forwarding and spam filtering may use minutes for entire call length. Not for extended international use; you must reside in the U.S. and primary usage must occur on our network.
