Use these steps to set up and use the TVision app on a phone or tablet running iOS 11 or higher or Android 5.1 or higher. See how it works with a simulatorT-Mobile Support > Device Tutorials > T-Mobile > select TVision.


App info

Your phone or tablet device must be running Apple iOS 11 or higher or Android 5.1 or higher. See how it works with a simulatorT-Mobile Support > Device Tutorials > T-Mobile > select TVision.

  • Accessibility:  TVision services accessibility support 
  • Channel availability: TVision services on-demand channel and show on-demand availability are subject to change. See TVision services channel support.
  • Downloads: Downloading any video for offline viewing is unavailable.
  • Streams: Stream three screens at a time (for TVision LIVE services or CHANNELS) or two at a time for TVision VIBE. An error message appears if attempting to stream on more than three screens.
App home page

Here's what you'll see when you open the TVision app:

  • Top left menu button (three lines) - Open for settings and to manage recordings, parental controls, see device info, and terms of service
  • Hero image - Popular shows and movies display at the top of the home screen.
  • Search icon - Click to search shows and movies

Bottom navigation

  • Home - Tap to go to the home screen where you can see:
    • List of Services - if subscribed to more than one TVision service
    • On Now
    • Popular Movies
    • Popular Shows
    • Sports - On Now
    • News - On Now
    • Your Recordings – if the customer has a DVR service and has recorded content
    • Continue Watching – if the customer has previously started playback of content
    • Comedy Movies
    • Movies for the Family
    • Reality & Lifestyle Shows
    • TV Comedies
    • TV Dramas
    • TVision Networks – these are just the TVision Live networks
    • A-La-Carte Channels
  • Guide - Tap to see current and future airings. View in a traditional grid or tile view.
  • Shows - Tap to browse for a TV show 
  • Movies - Tap to browse for a movie
  • DVR - Appears if you've got the TVision DVR feature​
Device info
  1. From the home screen, press the Menu button.
  2. Select Device info to see the following: App version, Account ID, User Profile ID, Device ID, Home Zipcode DMA, and the currently detected ZIP code (Traveling Zipcode DMA).


Find and watch videos

Control shows and movies (pause, fast forward, etc.)

After you've found a show or movie to watch, you can do a few things while it's playing:

  • Pause
  • Rewind
  • Fast forward (not available on some videos due to TV network restrictions)
  • Record
  • Details – Provides description, all episodes, upcoming airings, and similar shows or movies 
  • Audio/Closed Captioning – Turn on/off Closed Captions and Secondary Audio (when available)



Searching the app provides show/movie results, possible categories to browse, and upcoming items.

  1. From the home screen, tap the Search icon at the top.
  2. Enter your keywords for what you want to watch. The following appears:
    • TV shows
    • Individual episodes
    • Movies
  3. Click the desired video that appears.
  4. Click the Play icon (on the image of the video) to start watching.

Some live shows will appear on home, but you can go to the guide to find more. You can view live TV in either Grid view or List view by pressing the icon next to the search icon.

  1. From the home screen, tap Guide.
    • Grid view displays through the end of the following day.
    • Tile view displays current airings with an image
  2. Browse the shows by network.
  3. Click the image or text of the show to start watching.

Using the Live guide

  • The live guide is like a typical TV guide that lets you see upcoming videos with a grid-like user interface.
  • Swipe left and right to pick upcoming items to record (if you've got the TVision DVR feature​) or just browse what will be on later that day.
  • You will see channels that you might not be subscribed to, such as Starz. If you select the channel, you'll see a not subscribed message. You can upgrade your plan at any time to add more channels.
  • The Live Guide and Airing Next will reflect the local time based on where the device is.
  • Guide will show the rest of today, plus all of tomorrow. So has content until midnight tomorrow.
Browse shows & movies (On-demand)

On-demand videos are based on what the network provides and may change periodically. You can use Search to go right to a page, but here's how you can browse.

  1. From the home page, click Movies or Shows at the bottom.  
  2. Click the show or movie. The video's page appears.
  3. Click the Play button to start the playback. If you're looking for additional episodes, you can scroll down to see additional shows/seasons or related videos.
  4. If the video is playing live within the next 7 days, you will see a Record button to save to DVR once it airs.


Manage account / profile

The app does not provide T-Mobile account details. You'll need to access the T-Mobile App or My T-Mobile for details on your T-Mobile account. The TVision app does not work when connected to VPN.

Sign up for a new account

You can sign up via the T-Mobile app, My T-Mobile, or via Care.

Log in / out of

You need to use a T-Mobile ID to log in to the TVision app and you must let the TVision app use your location (your location will be shared) when using the app. 

  • Log in: Open the app > tap Sign In > enter your T-Mobile ID and password > tap Sign In. You will be signed out after 40 days of inactivity.
  • Log out: From the home page, tap the Menu icon > tap Sign out.
  • You cannot add, create, or delete a profile from a mobile device. This is only available via a TV app.
  • You pick a profile when you open and log in to the app. You can change profiles from the Menu.
  • If you haven't created a profile prior to using the mobile app, you'll have to select the system's default profile.
  • You can add up to 10 profiles per account, switch between profiles as needed, or delete when profiles are no longer needed.


Click the Profiles icon from the menu to switch between profiles (if multiple profiles exist).

Parental Controls

Parental controls allow you to restrict mature content (TV-MA, R) by creating a PIN that must be entered to view mature content

  1. In the app, click the Menu icon.
  2. Click Parental controls. You will be required to create a PIN Code the first time this is selected.
    • Toggle Restrict Mature Content on/off
    • Select Change PIN to create a new PIN. You will be required to enter current PIN before changing.
    • Forgot PIN: Make sure to store the PIN number somewhere so you don't forget it. If you forget, you'll need to call Care. 
  3. When enabled, parental controls effect all profiles. If channel surfing (pressing up or down on remote during live playback), channels with mature content will be skipped.  


Manage recorded videos (DVR)

DVR options only appear in the TVision app if you've got the TVision DVR feature​. DVR content expires 9 months after it is recorded. 

Cancel scheduled recording
  1. From Home, click DVR (at the bottom).
  2. Click Scheduled (at the top) and then view your upcoming shows or movies.
  3. Click the show or movie you want to cancel and then click Cancel.
  4. To cancel all upcoming recordings, select Options and then Cancel all recordings.
Delete/stop recording
  1. From Home, click DVR (at the bottom).
  2. Click Recorded (at the top) and then view your recorded shows or movies.
  3. Click to the show or movie you want to delete/stop and then click Delete.
  4. To delete all recordings, select Options and then Delete all recordings.
Record / add to DVR

You can record to your DVR for upcoming videos or any available video. You can also simply click the Record button while watching any live video.


  1. Browse or search for a TV show or movie
  2. From the video's page, select Record.
  3. Set recording options as desired.
    • Episodes – New Only or New and Reruns
    • Channels – Displays channels the show or movie will air on.
    • Extra Time – Add 0, 5, 10, 30, or 60 extra minutes to the recording
  4. If the video is upcoming, the option to play will not appear until the video has aired.
  1. From Home, click DVR.
  2. Click Recorded and then view your recorded shows or movies.
  3. Press the three dots next to any recording for management options.
