T-Mobile's FamilyMode lets you manage, monitor, filter and set time limits for your kids’ phones, tablets, gaming consoles, laptops, smart TVs and the other Wi-Fi-connected devices in your home… and it’s just $20 out of pocket for the device and $10/mo for the T-Mobile FamilyMode service.


What is FamilyMode?

  • For up to 17 (12 Voice, 5 MI) different lines and for one monthly subscription fee you can:
    • Set daily Internet limits on apps or platforms
    • Choose which platforms, sites and apps to allow on phones and tablets
    • Instantly pause and resume mobile Internet access
    • Filter out inappropriate content
    • Reward your kids with bonus screen time
    • See where your kids spend their time online
    • Know where your kids are
  • Optional FamilyMode Home Base can be purchased for $20, which allows parents to manage devices connected to home Wi-Fi (ex: laptops, game consoles).
  • Use the FamilyMode app to monitor and control the T-Mobile FamilyMode service.


Eligibility & compatibility

  • FamilyMode is not eligible to single-line plans. You must have at least two lines.
  • It requires an active, non-past due account.
  • All T-Mobile customers on a qualifying Magenta, ONE Plan, T-Mobile Essentials or Simple Choice plan, and for business customers with 17 lines or less (12 Voice 5 Mobile Internet).
  • The Primary Account Holder's device must have a working camera to scan the SPARQ code.
  • FamilyMode filters are used in place of Web Guard. Primary Account Holders who have FamilyMode will not have the option to add or manage Web Guard on My T-Mobile or the T-Mobile app.
  • Device must be within the continental U.S. Service isn't designed to provide results when roaming outside this area.
  • Not compatible with smartwatches.


Get the T-Mobile FamilyMode App

Sign up for T-Mobile FamilyMode in T-Mobile retail stores, online or by calling 1-800-T-MOBILE. Then, just download the T-Mobile FamilyMode app from the app store on your compatible device. See FamilyMode app for details compatible software versions.
