Learn how to set up, use, and connect your Samsung Galaxy Watch to the T-Mobile network.

To get started:

  • Make sure your phone has been updated to the latest software version.
  • Turn on Bluetooth and check that your phone is connected to Wi-Fi or a cellular network.
  • Download apps you want to use on your Samsung Galaxy Watch. Apps must be downloaded on both the phone and the watch to sync data.

Set up your Samsung Galaxy Watch

1. Charge and assemble your watch.

Charge the device by connecting the cable to the wireless charging port. When you connect the Watch and the wireless charger dock, the wireless charger dock’s LED indicator flashes certain colors to indicate the battery level.

To assemble your watch band, open the magnetic buckle, then open the clasp and slide the end of the band through the buckle. Gently pull the end of the strap to assist in opening the clasp. Close the buckle once you've found a good fit.

2. Pair your watch in the Galaxy Wearable app.

You can use the Galaxy Wearable app to set up and manage your Samsung watch. For best results, connect with a compatible Samsung Galaxy device.

To pair you watch...

  1. Open the Samsung Galaxy Wearable app and select Get Started.
  2. Follow the on-screen prompts to continue the activation process.
  3. When complete, make sure Remote connection is turned on to keep it connected to the phone over cellular.

What else can I do with the Galaxy Wearable app?

Activate/connect a watch on your smartphone

  1. On your phone, open the Galaxy Wearable app. 
  2. Start the setup:
    • If the phone isn't paired with the watch, select Get started in the app.
    • If the phone is paired with the watch already, select Mobile networks in the app.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to continue the activation process.
  4. When complete, make sure Remote connection is turned on to keep it connected to the phone over cellular.
    • Remote connection uses your Samsung account to connect your phone to your watch over Wi-Fi or mobile data.
    • Your watch will still receive notifications from your phone.
    • To enable this after setup, select Account and backup > Remote connection.

Back up watch settings and data

  1. Open the Galaxy Wearable app.
  2. Select Account and backup > Back up and restore > Backup settings.
  3. Select the data you want to back up on the watch.
  4. Choose Back up now. You can also turn on Auto back up, which backs up to your Samsung account.

Check watch software version

  1. Open the Galaxy Wearable app.
  2. Select About watch > Update watch software.
  3. Check the software version.
  4. Select Download and install to update. If a new version is available, choose Install now and follow the on-screen prompts. The watch will restart.

Use Find My Watch

  1. Open the Galaxy Wearable app.
  2. Choose Find My Watch.
  3. Select Get location to find the GPS address of your watch.
  4. Choose Start to look for your watch. Your watch will play a sound, vibrate, and turn on its screen.
  5. Select Stop to turn off the sound and vibration

Restore watch settings and data

  1. Open the Galaxy Wearable app.
  2. Choose Account and backup > Back up and restore > Restore. The phone searches for backups to restore on your Samsung account.
  3. Review the backup data you want to restore.
  4. Select Restore now.
  5. On the phone, confirm Remote connection is turned on.

Check app version

  1. Open the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone.
  2. Select About Galaxy Wearable.
  3. The app displays the version. If the app is already up to date, it will display "The latest version is already installed."

3. Select your plan and activate cellular service.

When you pair a new watch with the Galaxy Wearable app, you will be asked to select a T-Mobile plan to use with it.

  1. Select Set up a mobile plan in the Galaxy Wearable App (if you choose to skip this step, you can set up cellular later in the Galaxy Wearable app by selecting Watch Settings > Mobile Plans).
  2. Verify your T-Mobile account (if you're setting up for yourself, you will be asked to verify the last 4 digits of the primary account holder's SSN).
  3. Choose your plan and select Continue.
  4. Move to the bottom of the service agreement to accept, then select Continue.
  5. Select Use Plan to download the eSIM Profile on your watch.

4. Add Galaxy apps.

  1. From the home screen, press the home key.
  2. Select the Galaxy Apps icon.
  3. Select Search.
  4. Enter the name of the app you'd like to download, then select the search button on the keyboard.
  5. Select the app you'd like to download, then select Install.
  6. Some apps will require permissions from your watch. Read through the terms and select the checkbox to continue.
  7. Certain apps require you to install an associated app on your connected device. Install the app on your phone before continuing, then select OK.
