Important information

About the monitoring service

  • A professional monitoring service is contacted for red alerts that start within the United States and Puerto Rico.
  • Once the alert begins, they review the audio from the alert, the chat log, and, if necessary, contact the owner by phone.
  • The monitoring service also uses this information to decide whether this alert was accidentally sent, or if first responders need to go to the user.
  • The monitoring service will contact first responders from the local fire department, paramedic or EMT services, rescue teams, and/or police department based on the information in the alert.

Understanding the Signal Connection & Battery life

There are two connection modes the Moxee Signal can use to give you the best responsiveness, coverage, and battery life possible.

Connected to your smartphone over Bluetooth

  • Your Moxee Signal can work with the Moxee app on your Bluetooth paired smartphone and its own T-Mobile network connection to improve battery life.
  • During an alert with a Bluetooth connection, your phone's microphone, location services, and cellular data are used to send position and audio.
  • When connected via Bluetooth, your Moxee Signal can last up to 30 days on standby while using very little smartphone battery.
  • Your Moxee Signal is using a Bluetooth connection when the Connection Status LED glows blue.

Without Bluetooth connection

  • If your Moxee Signal isn't connected to your smartphone over Bluetooth, it only uses its own T-Mobile network connection.
  • During an alert without Bluetooth connection, your Moxee Signal's microphone, location services, and data connection are used to send position and audio.
  • If Moxee Signal isn't connected to your smartphone over Bluetooth, it can last up to 5 days on standby.
  • Your Moxee Signal is working without a Bluetooth connection when the Connection Status LED glows red.

Linked Mode

  • In Linked Mode, your Signal works with the on your paired smartphone and your T-Mobile network connection on the Signal.
  • During an alert in Linked Mode, your phone's microphone, location services, and cellular data are used to send position and audio.
  • Linked Mode uses very little phone battery life, but can let your Signal battery last up to 21 days.
  • Your Signal is in Linked Mode when the Connection Status LED glows blue.

Roaming Mode

  • In Roaming Mode, your Signal only uses your T-Mobile network connection on the Signal.
  • During an alert in Roaming Mode, your Signal's microphone, location services, and data connection are used to send position and audio.
  • Roaming Mode uses no phone battery and your Signal battery can last up to 5 days.
  • Your Signal is in Roaming Mode when the Connection Status LED glows red.
