Get help if your screen is hard to see, turns off at the wrong time, or does not respond as expected. For help with any step on your device, visit the Devices page, select your device, and find the steps there.

Steps for all issues

Before choosing your situation, check the following:

  1. Open the T-Life app and use the T-Life Troubleshooter first.
  2. Restart the phone.
  3. Update the device software to the latest version.
  4. If the problem started after installing an app, uninstall it.
  5. Clean the screen and the sensors at the top of the phone with a soft, dry cloth.

Hard to see screen

  1. Raise the screen brightness or turn on Auto-Brightness or Adaptive Brightness.
  2. Turn off display filters such as Night Mode, Night Shift, Eye Comfort, Blue Light Filter, or Extra Dim.
  3. Move away from glare or bright light.
  4. Check for display and accessibility settings that change color, contrast, or brightness.

Screen turns off too fast

  1. Increase the Screen timeout or Auto-Lock time in display settings.
  2. Turn off Battery Saver or Power Saving Mode temporarily and check again.
  3. If it's only during calls, make sure nothing is covering the sensors at the top of the screen.
  4. If it's only in one app, check for app updates on the Google Play or Apple App stores and look for display settings inside the app.

Screen stays on too long

  1. Shorten the Screen timeout or Auto-Lock time.
  2. Turn off any settings that keep the screen on, like Always-On display or Keep screen on while viewing.
  3. Stop any video, navigation, gaming, or other activity that may keep the display on

Touchscreen not responding

  1. Make sure the screen and your hands are clean and dry
  2. Remove the case or screen protector and check again.
  3. Use your fingertip. Gloves, fingernails, and some styluses may not work.
  4. Make sure there isn't any damage to the screen.

If the screen is frozen and buttons aren't working, check out our Crashing & Freezing troubleshooting.
