Learn how to customize the display and adjust the backlight on watchOS 8.

 

Backlight: Change brightness

  1. From the watch screen, press the Digital Crown.
  2. Tap Settings > Display & Brightness.
  3. Tap to increase or decrease brightness.

 

Widget or Shortcut: Add

  1. On your iPhone, open the Watch app.
  2. At the bottom, tap My Watch.
  3. Scroll through the list of applications and tap on the desired application.
  4. Tap the toggle by Show App on Apple Watch to show or hide the app. Built-in apps do not have this option.

 

Widget or Shortcut: Delete

  1. From the watch face, press the Digital Crown to open the app list.
  2. Tap and hold on the app you wish to remove. Tap Edit Apps.
  3. Tap the X to remove the app. You cannot remove built-in apps.

 

Wallpaper: Lock screen

  1. With the watch face showing, force-touch on the screen.
  2. Swipe left or right to highlight the watch face you want.
  3. Tap Edit if you wish to change features of the watch.
  4. Tap the screen to choose the watch face.
