Use these steps to manage contacts and caller groups on the Samsung Galaxy S4.

 

 

Add contact

  1. From any Home screen, tap Contacts.
  2. Tap the Contacts tab, if necessary.

  3. Tap the Plus ‘+’ icon.
  4. Tap one of the following options:
    • Device
    • SIM
    • Google
  5. Tap the First name field to open the on-screen keyboard and enter the contact’s first name.

  6. If desired, tap to enter additional contact information.
  7. When done, tap Save.

 

Add contact to speed dial

  1. From any Home screen, tap Phone.
  2. If necessary, tap the Keypad tab.
  3. Tap the Menu key.
  4. Tap Speed dial setting.
  5. Tap the number you want to assign.
  6. Tap the contact you want to assign to the speed dial number.

 

Add number to caller group

  1. From any Home screen, tap Contacts.
  2. Tap the Groups tab.
  3. Tap the desired group.
  4. Tap the "+" icon or else tap the Menu key, tap Edit, and then tap Add member.
  5. Tap to select the check box next to each contact you want to add, or tap to select the Select all check box to add all contacts.
  6. Tap Done.

 

Export contacts

Export moves contacts from the SD card or SIM card.

  1. From any Home screen, tap Contacts.
  2. Tap the Contacts tab, if necessary.
  3. Tap the Menu key.
  4. Tap Import/Export.
  5. Choose the desired option:
    • Copy your device contacts to SD Card
      1. Tap Export to SD card.
      2. Tap OK to confirm the Export
    • Copy your device contacts to your SIM card
      1. Tap Export to SIM card.
      2. Tap Select all or else tap each desired contact you want to copy.
      3. Tap Done and then tap OK.

 

Import contacts

Import moves contacts to the SD card or SIM card.

  1. From any Home screen, tap Contacts.
  2. Tap the Contacts tab, if necessary.
  3. Tap the Menu key.
  4. Tap Import/Export.
  5. Choose the desired option:
    • Copy your SD card contacts to your device
      1. Tap Import from SD card.
        When Importing contacts, you will need to select which location you want them imported to. This can vary depending on the amount of accounts you have sync'd with the phone. Once you select the location, tap OK to confirm the import.
        Tap the desired option:
        • Import vCard file
        • Import multiple vCard files
        • Import all vCard files
      2. Tap OK.
      3. If necessary, tap to select the desired Contact file(s) (vCard file) and then tap OK.
    • Copy your SIM card contacts to your device
      1. Tap Import from SIM card.
        When Importing contacts, you will need to select which location you want them imported to. This can vary depending on the amount of accounts you have sync'd with the phone. Once you select the location, tap OK to confirm the import.
      2. Tap to select the check box next to each contact you want to add, or tap to select the Select all check box to add all contacts.
      3. Tap Select all or else tap each desired contact you want to copy.
      4. Tap Done.

     

    Create caller group

    1. From any Home screen, tap Contacts.
    2. Tap the Groups tab.
    3. Tap the Menu key.
    4. Tap Create.
    5. Enter the group name.
    6. Tap Add member and tap to select the check box next to each contact you want to add. Tap Done.
    7. Tap Save.

     

    Delete contact

    1. From any Home screen, tap Contacts.
    2. Tap the Contacts tab, if necessary.
      To delete only contacts from a single contact list (for example, Google), tap the Menu key, tap Contacts to display, and then tap the desired contact list.
    3. Tap the Menu key.
    4. Tap Delete.
    5. Tap to select the check box next to the contact(s) you want to delete or check Select all.
    6. Tap Delete.
    7. Tap OK.
      Note:
      If you changed your contact display settings, tap the Menu key, tap Contacts to display, and then tap All contacts.
