Use these steps to use text to speech to have messages read out loud on the LG Stylo 4.

Set up

  1. From the apps list, tap Settings > General > Language & input.
  2. Tap Text-to-speech output and setup the following settings:
    • Preferred engine lets you choose the text-to-speech output. The default is Google.
    • Language lets you change the language
    • Speech rate lets you choose how fast the device speaks
    • Pitch change lets you change the pitch
    • Preview lets you test your current settings
    • Reset lets you reset your settings to default

Text to speech settings

  1. From the apps list, tap Settings > General > Language & input.
  2. Tap Text-to-speech output, then tap the Settings gear gear next to the preferred engine.
  3. Choose from the following options:
    • Install voice data
    • Use Wi-Fi only
    • Amplify speech volume
    • Intonation
    • Number processing
    • Always-on language detection
    • Anonymous usage reports
    • Feedback
