Limitations
- Current T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile customers or customers of T-Mobile partners using the T-Mobile network are not eligible.
- Users who have taken part in T-Mobile Trial (formerly Network Pass) in the last 12 months are not eligible.
- Only available to participants in the U.S (United States) with existing service on another carrier. Not for international use.
- Must have a compatible eSIM capable device.
- Your device must be unlocked by your existing carrier.
- Wi-Fi internet connection required to complete setup.
Get your T-Mobile Trial
- Make sure you’re connected to Wi-Fi with an active internet connection.
- Download the T-Life app from the Apple App Store or Google Play store.
- Open the T-Life app and choose Get started now.
- Follow the on-screen steps to sign up, including:
- Checking your eligibility
- Checking for T-Satellite eligibility
- Creating your profile
- Connecting your eSIM
Activate your eSIM
Once you’ve signed up for T-Mobile Trial, you need to activate your eSIM:
iPhone
- In the T-Life app, select Start carrier setup.
- On your iPhone, choose the Add eSIM pop-up, then select Continue.
- Choose to add the T-Mobile plan as Secondary, then select Continue.
- Don’t make changes to the default line. Select Continue.
- Don’t make changes to FaceTime or iMessage. Select Continue.
- Choose Secondary to make T-Mobile the default plan, then select Done.
Samsung
- In the T-Life app, choose to Download my eSIM > Connect my line.
- When you get the pop-up, choose to Allow access to your eUICC profile.
- Wait while your eSIM downloads.
Other Android
- In the T-Life app, choose Start carrier setup.
- Choose OK for any of the following prompts you may get:
- Your SIM will be downloaded soon
- Disconnect from current carrier
- Use Wi-Fi to download your SIM
- When prompted, choose T-Mobile as the SIM for data.
- Make sure to leave your current carrier as the SIM for calls and messages.
Experience T-Mobile
Once you're set up, make sure you try the T-Mobile network out and take advantage of some of our favorite benefits! Here’s some things you can do to make the most out of it:
You’ll want to make sure you have the right phone number set as default for things like calls and messages. For steps, choose your device and select the eSIM drawer.
Whether it’s streaming your favorite movies in 4K, connecting other devices to your hotspot, or just powering your day to day, put our network coverage and performance to the test in the places that matter most.
When you open the T-Life app, you’ll see:
- A personalized report on the quality of your network experience so far.
- Compare coverage & performance with your current carrier.
- Run a speed test and see how fast it really is!
If you don’t see your coverage report, select See My Network Scorecard.
Try sending a message on your next hike, lake trip, or anywhere traditional towers can’t reach. T-Satellite supports sending and receiving text messages, location sharing, and texting 911 emergency services.

- Make sure your device shows as one of the compatible devices listed below:
- Apple iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, and later
- Google Pixel 3 and later
- Samsung Galaxy S20/S20+/S20 Ultra and later
- Samsung Galaxy Note20/Note20 Ultra and later
- Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 and later
- Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 and later
- Check with your current wireless provider to make sure your device is unlocked for use on other networks.
- You may have reached the maximum number of eSIMs for your device; delete one and try again. Get steps.
- Try to sign up again in the T-Life app.
- Make sure there are no limitations preventing you from signing up, like previously being a T-Mobile customer.
- Confirm you’ve entered in your information correctly; we recommend using the email used with your current provider.
- Try to sign up again in the T-Life app.
