Dialing international numbers can sometimes be trickier than remembering your parent's Wi-Fi password, but we're got you covered. Read below to find out all you need to know. If you're looking for detailed information on how to use your phone while in another country, check out our International roaming checklist.

Dial international numbers

  • The easiest way to make an international call is to dial the + (which should be the same key as the 0), followed by the country code, and then the phone number.
  • The + replaces the International Direct Dialing (IDD) code when you use a mobile phone to call to another country.
  • This same dialing pattern applies whether you're within the U.S. or in another country.

Randomizer security

  • When calling some countries, you may hear an automated message that gives you a random two-digit number between 10 and 99.
  • Enter the number you hear in order to complete the call.
  • T-Mobile added this extra step to help prevent fraudulent calls. It's only needed when calling certain international numbers/locations which may change over time.
