What is Live Translation?

Live Translation is T-Mobile’s built-in, real-time voice translation service. It provides near-instant, two-way translation on any phone—including basic feature phones—with no apps, downloads, or special devices required. Just speak naturally in your own language on the call—Live Translations takes care of the translating automatically.

How does it work?

T-Mobile’s Live Translation automatically detects two different languages and translates them in real time, allowing for a smooth, natural conversation.

• While on a call, dial *87* to activate or deactivate Live Translation.
• Only works if you are enrolled in Live Translation.
• Live Translation works automatically at the network level—no apps or downloads needed.
• Delivers a human-like experience with fast, fluid responses.
• Supports 50+ languages and supports global communications across 215+ countries.
• What you say is what they hear—every word and emotion, with no censorship or editing.

• Live Translation is currently available for eligible consumer accounts and not supported for Prepaid, business, or government accounts.
