As the president of technology at T-Mobile, Ulf Ewaldsson is at the forefront of driving innovation and shaping the future of technology in the telecommunications industry. Ulf leads a passionate team of engineers and technologists who are dedicated to providing the best network experience for customers. Under Ulf’s leadership, T-Mobile continues to innovate and deliver industry-leading network performance, coverage, and speed. His team is charged with developing and implementing T-Mobile's technology roadmap and creating cutting-edge technologies, propelling the Un-carrier's network to new heights for customers and businesses.

Since taking on the role of president of technology in 2023, Ulf has led T-Mobile's network, consistently sweeping the competition in third-party reports, from the likes of Ookla, Opensignal, and more. These assessments measure the mobile network experience for customers — ranking T-Mobile as the top network performer nearly across the board.

Ulf began his T-Mobile journey in 2019, joining Team Magenta as executive vice president and chief network officer, where he managed T-Mobile's nationwide team that builds and operates the Un-carrier's network. He is credited as a founder of fifth-generation wireless technology and is known for creating innovative telecommunications products, like multi-standard RBS, antenna-integrated radio units, femto base stations, and Narrowband-Internet of Things (NBIoT).

Before joining T-Mobile, he held several leadership positions at Ericsson, including chief strategy and technology officer, where he played a pivotal role in driving the company’s technology strategy transformation.

Ulf has received numerous accolades for his contributions to the industry, including Global Telecoms Business Magazine, recognizing Ulf among the top 50 most powerful people in the global telecom industry.

Raised in Sweden, Ulf earned Master of Science and a Master of Business Management degrees from Linköping Technical University. He also has executive leadership training from Columbia University in New York.

Ulf is on the board of Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association (CTIA), Allicon Corporate Fiber AB and is a member of the board of trustees of the National Nordic Museum in Seattle. He’s also on the board of 5G Americas, an industry trade organization that advocates for the advancement of 5G.

In his spare time, Ulf enjoys spending time with his family, oil painting and pursuing outdoor activities. You can find him skiing on the slopes, hiking in the mountains, playing tennis and seeking new adventures in nature.
