As president of marketing, strategy, and products at T-Mobile, Mike Katz is at the helm of driving innovation, accelerating strategic priorities, and delivering long-term growth through new business opportunities. His teams are responsible for driving the company's core differentiation through marketing, innovation, and exceptional customer experiences, while fostering partnerships and opportunities that catalyze growth.
With over 20 years at T-Mobile, Mike has played a key role in shaping the company’s Un-carrier strategy, a customer-centric approach that rewrote the playbook for the wireless industry by eliminating common pain points and elevating experiences to new heights. His teams have helped carry forward the company’s commitment to becoming an AI-enabled, data-informed, digital-first organization through the launch of bespoke experiences including the launch of T-Life, Magenta Status, and T-Mobile Tuesdays.
Mike’s leadership has been pivotal in extending the Un-carrier philosophy beyond core wireless. Under his leadership, T-Mobile launched its fixed wireless 5G Home Internet service followed by T-Mobile Fiber, building on the company’s position as the fastest growing broadband provider in the country with strategic acquisitions of fiber providers such as Lumos and Metronet. In the advertising sector, Mike’s team spearheaded the growth of its now $1 billion T-Ads business, including the acquisition of Vistar Media, a leading provider of digital-out-of-home (DOOH) advertising solutions that enable marketers to reach consumers with more relevant and engaging content. He also led the acquisition of Mint and Ultra Mobile, expanding T-Mobile’s nationwide reach and offering more flexible, affordable options.
Previously, as president of the T-Mobile Business Group, Mike led a team that tripled the customer base, forging partnerships with 75% of the Fortune 500 and major government agencies. He also helped spearhead the company’s flagship philanthropic initiative, Project 10Million, connecting millions of underserved K-12 students with essential free internet service and mobile hotspots. Mike has twice been featured on Forbes’ 50 Most Influential CMOs list. He holds a degree from Colorado State University and his other favorite jobs are being a father and husband.
