Executive Vice President & Chief Technology Officer
Abdul Saad is the executive vice president and chief technology officer at T-Mobile. Abdul leads a diverse team responsible for end-to-end network growth and evolution, which encompasses the radio network, core network and services, IP/transport and network infrastructure, device technology, video technology, network planning and performance, and network and device labs—including our amazing, state-of-the-art technology and innovation center, Tech Experience. The Un-carrier's network technology team contributes to T-Mobile’s phenomenal growth and success every day by finding innovative ways to make communication more affordable, seamless, and reliable for customers.
Over his 19 years at T-Mobile, Abdul's work has been integral to standout moments in the network timeline—from the launch of the first 2G GPRS data network and our 3G HSPA nationwide network, to the 4G LTE network launch and 2019's nationwide 5G. He's the current chair of GSMA North America, a member of the board of governors at 5G Americas, a member of the NGMN Board of Directors, and a member of the board of directors at ATIS, representing T-Mobile.
Abdul's career began with the design, development, testing, and integration of wireless telecommunications platforms and services in the UK, where he was a crucial player in the Vodafone and Orange GSM network launches in the early '90s before GSM tech went global. His U.S. career began with Pacific Bell Wireless/Cingular in 1995, where he held several technical leadership positions, including executive director of network engineering in California.
Abdul is a diehard Liverpool FC fan and, of course, a fan of our great Seattle Sounders and Seahawks teams. He loves watching movies, comedy, news shows, and spending time with the family—his wife, Nabiela, and their daughter, Muntaha.
