Got Questions?

How do I setup and use my DIGITS?

Download the DIGITS app from the App Store or Google Play Store, and log in using your T-Mobile ID credentials. If you don’t have a T-Mobile ID, the app will allow you to create one. Just remember to use a voice line for creating the T-Mobile ID. Go through the setup process and decide on which line you would like to use in the DIGITS app.

If you don’t see one of the lines that you want to access, continue going through the setup procedure. Ensure that you have the right permissions to use the DIGITS line by going to Settings >> Advanced options >> Line permissions. You will see all the lines that you are permissioned to use and share. Click on the line that you want to access and share it with the T-Mobile ID that needs to use it, including your own. For more information, click here.

What if I need an additional number?

If you want additional DIGITS lines, you can purchase a DIGITS Talk & Text line for $10/month (w/AutoPay discount using eligible payment method).

If you want your smartwatch to use the same number as your primary phone, you can purchase Data with Paired DIGITS for your smartwatch for just $10/month(w/AutoPay discount using eligible payment method), or high-speed Data with Paired DIGITS for your paired smartphone for $20/month(w/AutoPay discount using eligible payment method)

How much does DIGITS cost?

Nothing! You don’t have to pay anything extra to access your existing T-Mobile voice lines in the DIGITS app – this is available for free to all T-Mobile customers! Just download the DIGITS app for Android, iOS, or desktop to access your T-Mobile number from any internet-connected phone, tablet, or computer. However, you can purchase special DIGITS line types, which you can learn about below.

How do I access and manage my DIGITS?

You can easily manage all your numbers in the T-Mobile DIGITS app on any connected device, even if the device is with another carrier. You can also access DIGITS from any Mac or PC browser by visiting https://digits.t-mobile.com on Chrome or Firefox, or download a standalone app. For additional support click here. To manage your DIGITS, including who can access them, just go to myDIGITS.t-mobile.com, or in the DIGITS app settings under Line Permissions.

Do I need a new phone to use DIGITS?

No. All you need is an internet-connect Android or iOS smartphone, tablet, or PC or Mac to use all of your DIGITS lines.

My mobile phone number already works on all my Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac). How is this different?

Continuity is restricted to the iOS ecosystem. DIGITS allow calls and texts to work on any device in which you have enabled your DIGITS lines, regardless of the operating system.

Can I use my new DIGITS number on a non- T-Mobile device?

Yes. Even if your Android or iOS device is with another carrier, you can make and take calls or send and receive texts using the T-Mobile DIGITS app. Once you’ve downloaded and logged into the app, you can turn on your DIGITS. If the device is not on the T-Mobile network, any data used will decrement from the phone plan with the other carrier.

Can I call or text 911 with DIGITS?

Yes. But calls and texts to 911 still work best from your landline or primary cell phone number, and without using Wi-Fi. You should always provide your actual location and callback number to the 911 operator and be aware that if the operator calls you back, the call may be answered by others sharing your DIGITS line. See the DIGITS Terms of Use for additional 911 information.

How have you made sure DIGITS is secure?

DIGITS calls and texts use the same leading level of security and encryption as traditional T-Mobile calls and texts.

How do I share my phone number with other devices, like my desktop, laptop, or tablet?

Simply download the DIGITS app on the device you’d like to share your number with. On PC and Mac, go to https://webdigits.t-mobile.com to log in or download the application. Then, open the app, log in with your T-Mobile ID, and turn on your line.

I want to use my main phone number but switch between phones such as an iPhone and Android device without swapping my SIM. Can I do this?

Absolutely. There are two ways to do this depending on your needs.

If both devices already have their own phone number and data plan then you can access your primary number from either phone any time through the DIGITS app. Manage all your DIGITS right inside your DIGITS app in Settings >> Advanced Options >> Line permissions OR if you are on a desktop app then visit https://mydigits.t-mobile.com.

If you want each phone to simply share the same primary number and you don’t want to get high-speed data on the second device then you can pair your number with another device for just $10 a month using a Data with Paired DIGITS plan.

*Data with Paired DIGITS comes with unlimited data at 512 Kbps.

Can I receive authentication codes with DIGITS?

If you are trying to receive a 2 factor authentication code on for a number using the DIGITS app or web portal be aware that not all short codes work for these products.  If the service you are trying to interact with has other options for logging on and for authenticating your identity, such as email or security questions, please use those other options.

Wearables FAQ

What is a wearable?

A wearable tends to be the label for a broader category that includes a variety of wearable tech such as activity trackers like Fitbit, Bluetooth non-connected watches like the earlier series Apple watch, and connected smartwatches that let you leave behind your handset (and perform similar functions).

What’s the difference between a truly connected device and a Bluetooth device? How do they work?

A smartwatch uses a SIM, (usually embedded, sometimes will actually require a SIM card), and network connection to provide features similar to a smartphone, without actually having to be connected to any handset. The idea is to leave the phone behind and still stay connected! Smartwatch features typically include the ability to call/text contacts, check social media, stream music, get news updates, make mobile payments, track activity and utilize your favorite apps.

A Bluetooth device means you can’t completely leave your phone behind – you do still need to have your watch connected to your handset to utilize the watch features.

What’s the difference between a smartwatch and an activity tracker?

Activity trackers are just what they sound like - they track your activity. These do not provide access to features such as being able to call or text contacts, make mobile payments, stream music, receive notifications, check social media feeds, check on news, etc. A smartwatch allows you to do all of this while leaving your phone behind, plus also will provide activity tracking so you only need to wear one device to get all the benefits!

What is DIGITS and why should I get DIGITS for this device?

DIGITS from T-Mobile are your phone numbers without the limits of traditional phone numbers. For wearables, we recommend the Data with Paired DIGITS plan because it will pair your primary T-Mobile phone number with a wearable with unlimited data (512 Kbps). You will get all your calls and text on both devices and when you call our text from your wearable, it will show as coming from your primary mobile number, and not some random number your friends won’t recognize.

If I am an existing Simple Choice customer can I get a Data with Paired DIGITS wearable line?

Absolutely! Just visit us at t-mobile.com, any T-Mobile retail store or call care and we’ll get you set up.

If I have the DIGITS app and can share my number across many devices, why do I need a Data with Paired DIGITS plan for my wearable?

Data with Paired DIGITS lets you use your main on device that use a SIM but can’t run the app, like wearables or a feature phone. For example, wearables do not have a way to download the DIGITS app, so if you would like to pair your main number with your wearable, just sign up for the Data with Paired DIGITS plan and enjoy unlimited data that runs at 512kb, perfect for a wearable.

How do I know if I should sign up for Data with Paired DIGITS or the T-Mobile ONE Wearable Plan with a Separate #?

The Data with Paired DIGITS plan gives your smartwatch unlimited data and the same number as your phone. Any calls or messages to your primary cell phone number will go to both your phone and your smartwatch, and anytime you call or text from your smartwatch it also comes from your primary cell phone number. Data with Paired DIGITS works all the time so you can leave your phone in the locker while you work out and never miss a call or text.

The T-Mobile ONE Wearable plans also gives your smartwatch data wherever you go, but instead of using your primary phone number they give your smartwatch its own number. This option is recommended if the person using the smartwatch doesn’t have a phone, say it’s for your kid as their first device.

  • Data with Paired DIGITS plan. All calls and texts made from the wearable come from your primary cell phone number. All incoming calls and texts to your phone’s number will ring both your phone and your wearable. Our standard plan includes 512 Kbps for only $10/month w/AutoPay discount using eligible payment method. For a limited time, with your Apple Watch, you can get unlimited high-speed data for the same price. On all T-Mobile plans, during congestion, the small fraction of customers using >50GB/mo. may notice reduced speeds until next bill cycle due to data prioritization.
  • The T-Mobile ONE Wearable Plans. All calls and texts made from the wearable come from their own number. Only calls and text to the wearable’s number will ring it, unless you are Bluetooth connected to your phone and have set it up to ring the wearable.

Can I pair my wearable with a non- T-Mobile device?

Yes, your wearable should be able to sync with your non-TMO device using Bluetooth, assuming coverage in your area is adequate from the other carrier. Samsung Gear S3 can be paired with both iOS and Android devices.

If you use Data with Paired DIGITS for your wearable it must be paired to a T-Mobile phone number on the same account to use that phone number for calls and texts. At this time, the Samsung Galaxy Watch can only be paired with Samsung handsets.

Does Caller ID work with wearables?

Yes, your wearable will work just like your voice line in terms of Caller ID.
