T-Mobile sponsors free in-flight Wi-Fi for passengers on Delta, Alaska, Hawaiian, and Southwest airlines, so you can stream, text, and more even if you are not a T-Mobile customer. Airlines may offer free Wi-Fi on select Wi-Fi-enabled aircraft, via customer loyalty programs.
For a limited time, T-Mobile offers free in-flight Wi-Fi to eligible T-Mobile members on qualifying plans for Alaska and United flights if a free option for their passengers is not available via their loyalty programs.

Supported devices and airlines
Supported devices
- Most devices introduced after January 2015 are supported.
- Your device needs to support Wi-Fi to use T-Mobile In-Flight and must support (and have enabled) Wi-Fi calling to send text messages while in-flight, including the text message that includes your One-Time PIN.
- Foldable devices must remain closed when activating the T-Mobile benefit. Once the benefit is successfully activated and internet access is established, the device may be unfolded and used normally.
Supported airlines
- T-Mobile sponsored In-Flight Wi-Fi is offered on several domestic carriers through their loyalty programs, such as:
- Delta Air Lines
- Alaska Airlines
- Hawaiian Airlines
- Southwest Airlines
- Some international flights to and from the U.S. on these airlines are supported.
- Other airlines also will offer free in-flight for passengers on capable aircraft via their customer loyalty programs.
How to Use T-Mobile sponsored in-flight Wi-Fi
Pre-flight setup
Before you board, make sure you sign up for the airline’s loyalty rewards program. Once you are on board:
- Open your device Settings, turn on Airplane Mode, then turn on Wi-Fi.
- Choose the airline's Wi-Fi network.
- Sign into your airline loyalty account, or join for free.
Most flights have information on how to connect in the seat-back pocket. You will need to log into the airline portal using your airline loyalty number and then follow the instructions to connect to in-flight Wi-Fi.
You need to be a member of the airline’s free loyalty program. If you are already a member, you are all set and should not create a new account.
- Delta SkyMiles®: Join SkyMiles.
- Atmos™ Rewards (Alaska + Hawaiian): Only join if you are new to both airlines. Existing Mileage Plan or HawaiianMiles accounts already work. Join Atmos™ Rewards – Enroll Today.
- Southwest Rapid Rewards®: Rapid Rewards | Southwest Airlines.
Once you are enrolled, follow the onboard Wi-Fi connection instructions and you will be online faster than the drink cart can reach your row.
How to use T-Mobile In-Flight Connection
You can use T-Mobile In-Flight Connection On Us whenever it is enabled on your flight, which is often when your plane reaches 10,000 feet or higher. Some flights may offer Wi-Fi from gate to gate.
- Place the device into Airplane mode and turn Wi-Fi on.
- Make sure Wi-Fi Calling is set to Enabled or On.
- Select the airline's Wi-Fi network.
- On some flights you will receive a pop-up page that allows you to select "Continue" to reach the Wi-Fi passes page. Most flights will have information on how to connect in the seat-back pocket
- If you do not receive a pop-up page, use these URLs to access the appropriate home page (based on your airline):
- Alaska: alaskawifi.com
- Delta: deltawifi.com
- United: unitedwifi.com
- Select the T-Mobile benefit titled: In-Flight Connection On Us! or Free InFlight Connection.
- Enter your T-Mobile phone number.
- You may be prompted to enter a PIN. Use the following One-Time PIN steps for details.
- If further authentication is needed after you enter your T-Mobile phone number, you will get an onscreen message notifying you that a PIN is required to continue. When you select Continue, a One-Time PIN will be sent via text message to the phone number you entered.
- Simply enter the PIN onscreen for verification, and your T-Mobile In-Flight session will begin. Entering the One-Time PIN onscreen will ensure that the person requesting the use of the T-Mobile In-Flight benefit will be the one using it.
- After you receive the One-Time PIN and successfully begin your T-Mobile In-Flight session, your device information will be saved for your next flight on that airline. If you switch airlines, you may be prompted to enter a One-Time PIN again.
- If you received this PIN and are not on a flight, someone has attempted to redeem the T-Mobile In-Flight benefit using your phone number. Rest assured; it does not mean anyone has access to your account. Without access to the PIN, the user is unable to authenticate and unable to redeem your benefit.
- Your T-Mobile In-Flight benefit will only work on the device associated with your T-Mobile number.
- Airplane mode and Wi-Fi calling must be enabled to receive your One-Time PIN. Please ensure your phone is in Airplane Mode; Wi-Fi Calling is ON and try again if needed (it may take up to 2 minutes to receive the PIN in flight).
- Select a one hour or full-flight session if prompted. A screen will appear stating that your Wi-Fi and texting has started confirming that you are connected.
- Start enjoying the T-Mobile In-Flight Connection benefit!
One-Time PIN steps
When launching your T-Mobile In-Flight session, there is now a second layer of authentication using a One-Time PIN to make sure it is really you.

- Some planes use Air to Ground (ATG) networks instead of Satellite. ATG flights are typically for smaller, regional planes that go short distances.
- While Wi-Fi may still be available on ATG, the speed will be slower and will not support streaming.
