Got questions?

Find answers to common questions about your move from UScellular to T-Mobile and what to expect next.

Account

    • Welcome to T-Mobile! If you received a message letting you know your account has moved, you’re in the right place.
    • Your next step is to download the T-Life: Your All-In-One T-Mobile App for managing your account. With T-Life, you can view your account details, manage services, and access your T-Mobile benefits.
    • You download the T-Life app in the Google Play Store or Apple iOS App Store. Once installed, sign-in to get started.
    • To access your account on both the T-Life app and T-Mobile.com, you’ll use a T-Mobile ID. In many cases, a T-Mobile ID was created for you based on the information on your UScellular account. Your T-Mobile ID will be either your mobile number or email address previously associated with your UScellular account.
    • If you need help setting up or managing your T-Mobile ID, you can find step-by-step guidance on the Set up & manage your T-Mobile ID | T-Mobile Support page.
    • Customers who had Account Lock with UScellular, now have SIM Protection and Port-out Protection enabled on their T-Mobile account. No further action is needed if you want to keep these protections in place
      • SIM Protection is a free feature that helps prevent unauthorized SIM or device changes. If someone tries to move your number to a new SIM card or device without first turning this off, the request will be blocked.
      • Port-out Protection helps safeguard your phone number from being transferred to another service provider without authorization.
    • Any authorized user on the account can add these features. For maximum security, only the Primary Account Holder (PAH) can remove them. Both features can be managed in the T-Life app or on T-Mobile.com.
    • For more details and step-by-step guidance managing these free protections, visit Help Protect Your Account from Fraud page.
    • No. Your UScellular login information does not carry over. To access your account with T-Mobile, you’ll use a T-Mobile ID, which is separate from your previous UScellular credentials. In some cases, we may have already created this for you to make getting started easier.
    • For account security, the Primary Account Holder (PAH) will have a T-Mobile account PIN, which may be required to verify identity when making certain changes to the account.
    • We recommend that you update your PIN now that you are here. You can manage your T-Mobile ID and PIN in the T-Life app or by logging into T-Mobile.com. If you need help setting things up, we’re here to help every step of the way.
    • No—you don’t need to set this up again. Any authorized users you previously had on your account were brought over for you.
    • The Primary Account Holder or Billing Responsible Party can review, add, or remove authorized users at any time in the T-Life app or by logging into T-Mobile.com.
    • For more details about the Billing Responsible Party role and authorized users, visit the Billing Responsible Party and authorized users - Consumer | T-Mobile Support page.
    • As part of joining T-Mobile, your personal information is now covered by the T-Mobile Privacy Notice, which explains how T-Mobile collects, uses, and protects your data.
    • You can review the Privacy Notice and manage your privacy choices at any time through the Privacy Dashboard, where you’ll find clear options to view and update your preferences.
  • Please review your E911 address to ensure it is accurate and update it if needed. Learn more about how to update T-Life or from T-mobile.com here.

Billing

    • Now that your account has moved to T-Mobile, your bill may look a little different. That’s expected, and all the details are easy to find.
    • The easiest way to review your bill is in the T-Life app or by logging into your account on T-Mobile.com.
    • From there, you can view your plan information, review charges, and download a detailed copy of your bill anytime.
    • If you’d like a deeper walkthrough of how your bill is structured and what can impact it, visit the Your bill and what's impacting it | T-Mobile Support page.
    • If you were enrolled in AutoPay with your UScellular account, your AutoPay is still active on your T-Mobile account, no action is required.
    • You can also pay your bill anytime through the T-Life app or by logging into T-Mobile.com. For a full list of payment options, including in-store and other convenient ways to pay, visit the Ways to pay your T-Mobile bill | T-Mobile Support page.

    • For faster and more convenient options, you can also pay your bill through the T-Life app or on T-Mobile.com. If you have any questions, we’re here to help.
    • Yes. You can view detailed billing information anytime in the T-Life app, where you’ll find itemized charges and usage details at no additional cost.
    • If you prefer to receive a printed detailed bill by mail, you can request this option. Please note there is a $2 monthly charge for printed detailed billing.
    • You can manage your billing preferences in the T-Life app or by logging into your account on T-Mobile.com. If you need help, we’re here to support you.
    • No, your UScellular lines were moved to a new T-Mobile account. You now have two T-Mobile accounts and you'll continue to receive separate bills for each account.
    • If you're interested in checking if combining accounts makes sense for you, our team can walk you through your options.
    • No, your AutoPay settings have moved over to your T-Mobile account, so there's nothing you need to do right now.
    • AutoPay payments are processed two days before your bill’s due date to help ensure your payment clears on time.
    • You can verify your AutoPay details, update your payment method, or make changes in the T-Life app or by logging into your account on T-Mobile.com.

Scam Shield

    • As part of the move to T-Mobile, your Call Guardian service was replaced with T-Mobile Scam Shield. Scam Shield provides advanced anti-scam features like Scam Likely, Scam Block, and Caller ID.
    • Scam Shield includes the core protections Call Guardian did — and more:
      • Network-level Scam ID & Scam Block, which flag and stop scam calls before they ever reach you.
      • Caller ID & labeling, to help you see who’s calling, even if the number isn’t saved in your contacts.
      • Spam reporting & allow lists, to help you tailor your preferences for blocking.
    • Scam Shield is easy to use — you can manage all your Scam Shield settings right inside the T-Life app, so there’s no need for a separate app.
    • For customers who want added protection, Scam Shield Premium is available for an additional cost and includes features like advanced blocking categories, reverse number lookup, and voicemail-to-text.
    • For more information about Scam Shield and how T-Mobile helps protect you from scams, spam, and fraud, visit the Help with scams and spam page on T-Mobile Support.
    • No. Call Guardian settings do not transfer to Scam Shield. Call Guardian and Scam Shield are separate services, and Scam Shield preferences will need to be set up after your move to T-Mobile.
    • The good news is that Scam Shield offers enhanced call protection and can be managed easily in the T-Life app, with no need for a separate application.
    • Yes. If you had call blocking, message blocking, international roaming blocking, or notification blocking set up on your UScellular account, those settings were moved over to your T-Mobile account and will continue to apply.
    • You can review or update these blocking settings anytime in the T-Life app or by logging into your account on T-Mobile.com.

International Calling

    • Yes—you'll continue to have access to international roaming and calling now that your account is with T-Mobile, with a few helpful updates.
      • What stays the same:
        • You can continue using your phone while traveling internationally, including in Canada and Mexico, based on your plan’s included features.
        • You can still make discounted international calls from the U.S. to other countries with available add-ons.
      • What's new or different:
        • You can view and manage your international features in the T-Life app or by logging into your account on T-Mobile.com once your conversion is complete.

      • For more details about international roaming, data, and international calling options by plan, visit International roaming and International talk & text guide on T-Mobile Support.

Voicemail

    • No, your voicemails are still there. Your voice messages and greetings from your UScellular voicemail box were transferred as part of the move to T-Mobile.
    • Here’s what to expect:
      • After your account moves, you can access your previous voicemails by dialing into your UScellular voicemail. After 24-72 hours, the messages will be integrated into the T-Mobile voicemail box.
      • During this short transition, you may be prompted to select Menu Option 8 and enter your existing UScellular voicemail PIN to listen to your messages.
        • If you do not remember your PIN, you can either wait until the messages move to your new T-Mobile voicemail box automatically or contact us and we will request your old PIN information
      • Within a couple of days, your voicemails and greetings will be fully available in your new T-Mobile voicemail box — no extra steps needed.
      • Once complete, you’ll see your previous UScellular voicemails alongside any new T-Mobile voicemails in one place.
      • If you use iPhone Visual Voicemail, any voicemails already downloaded to your device stay on your phone.
    • You can still check voicemail easily — a few access methods work slightly differently now.
    • Your options:
      • If you are on the T-Mobile Network, and before your old UScellular voicemails move into the T-Mobile voicemail box, you can still access them by:
        • Long press 1 in the main menu.
        • Press option 8.
        • You may be prompted to enter a voicemail PIN, this is your previous UScellular voicemail PIN
      • Once you are on the T-Mobile’s network, and your old UScellular voicemails have moved into the new T-Mobile voicemail box, you can access them by completing one of the following:
        • Press and hold 1 until your phone calls voicemail — this still works and is the easiest way to access voicemail.
        • Dial your own number — you’ll be prompted to enter your voicemail PIN.
        • Dial 123 to connect you directly to your new T-Mobile voicemail
        • Note that *86 — no longer works for accessing voicemail after the move.
    • As part of the move, you were set up with a new T-Mobile voicemail box. The first time you access voicemail, you’ll be asked to create a new PIN and greeting. Once that’s done, you’re all set.
    • If you do not wish to set up a new T-Mobile voicemail box greeting, then your previous UScellular greeting will be your active greeting, and you can choose to keep it or record a new one.
    • Once you are on the T-Mobile Network, you’ll see a “Set Up” button in the Voicemail tab.
    • Here’s what to expect:
      • Even if you’ve already set up voicemail by calling in, you’ll still need to tap Set Up in the Voicemail tab to fully activate Visual Voicemail.
      • Once Visual Voicemail is set up, new voicemails will appear in the Voicemail tab as expected.
      • Any previously saved voicemails on your iPhone stay on your device — nothing disappears during the move.

T-Satellite

    • T-Satellite is not automatically included with your T-Mobile plan. However, customers can choose to add T-Satellite features to their account to access these benefits.
    • Depending on eligibility, $0 or $15 per month add-on options may be available. You can review availability and manage add-ons in the T-Life app or by logging into T-Mobile.com.
    • If you have questions about whether T-Satellite is right for you, we’re here to help.
    • T-Satellite with Starlink is T-Mobile’s direct-to-cell satellite service designed to help keep you connected in areas where traditional cellular coverage may not be available.

T-Mobile Home Internet

    • Yes—but not right away. Gateway upgrades will occur as part of the overall move to T-Mobile’s system.
    • To prepare for your new gateway when your account is moved to T-Mobile’s system, please visit www.internetdevice.uscellular.com to confirm or update your shipping address, so the new T-Mobile Gateway can be delivered when the time comes. We will also notify you when this step is required.
