World-Class Action Sports Athletes Compete In New York at the Nokia/T-Mobile Ramps and Amps Invitational

Free Event in New York City Showcases the World's Leading Action Sports Athletes and Live Musical Performances

Bellevue, Wash. — Jul. 6, 2004

Huge air, gravity-defying tricks on two and four wheels, and high-energy music from up-and-coming bands will highlight the festivities on Saturday, July 17 at the admission-free Nokia/T-Mobile Ramps and Amps Invitational.

The Ramps and Amps Invitational will feature the T-Mobile Action Sports Team, a collection of the coolest action sports athletes known to man, as well as other professionals and amateurs - all vying for a shot at the combined $100,000 purse in BMX Vert and Vert Skateboarding. Non-prize money events include: in-line skating, mountain boarding and Go-Ped motorized scooter competitions.

The Nokia/T-Mobile Ramps and Amps Invitational will be packed with energetic athletes and stoked fans that will leave New York City spectators in awe. By being on–site at the South Street Seaport, fans will be able to see insane tricks like 720's, Superman airs and backflips, performed by a new breed of athletes at an ideal location.

The action starts at 3:00 p.m. on July 17. The Nokia/T-Mobile Ramps and Amps Invitational will also feature musical performances by the coolest up-and-coming bands throughout the day. Music performances will begin approximately at 5:45 pm with the energetic band Chronic Future and continues throughout the day with a vigorous special concert after the Ramps and Amps Invitational at 8:00 p.m.

The T-Mobile Action Sports Team athletes are at the top of their game and embody all the attributes that the T-Mobile brand represents in the marketplace: fun, confident, modern and daring. The team consists of:

--Dave Mirra (BMX Rider): Most decorated action sports athlete competing today. He has won more X Games gold medals than any other competitor.

--Ryan Nyquist (BMX Rider): Won gold medals at the 2003 X Games and 2003 Gravity Games.

--Shaun White (Skateboarder/Snowboarder): Won a gold medal at the 2004 Winter X Games and the 2003 ESPY Award for Best Action Sports Athlete.

--Bucky Lasek (Skateboarder): Gold medalist at 2003, 2000 & 1999 X Games.

--Carey Hart (Freestyle Moto X Star): Gold medalist at the 1999 Australia X Games and silver medalist at 2002 X Games.

--Gretchen Bleiler (Snowboarder): Won a gold medal at the 2003 Winter X Games and captured the award for "Female Rider of the Year" in Transworld Snowboarding's fifth Annual Riders Poll in 2003.

The Nokia/T-Mobile Ramps & Amps Invitational will be televised on Fox Sports Net for a total of six hours of programming beginning Tuesday, September 7 at 4:00 p.m. PDT and it will be re-aired on Wednesday, September 8:00 at 2:00 a.m. PST and again at 9:30 a.m. PDT. Re-airs will be shown again on December 7 at 4:00 p.m. PST, December 8 at 2:00 a.m. PST and once again at 9:30 am PST.
