August 27, 2019

Update: September 6, 2019

We are continuing to monitor Hurricane Dorian as makes its way up the Eastern seaboard. We have seen limited local interruptions in South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia but our teams remain ready to respond as needed and are working to restore our network where conditions allow.

T-Mobile is also continuing to offer a Text-to-Give option to customers who would like to donate $10 to the American Red Cross to support disaster relief efforts in the US and Bahamas. To participate, text DORIAN to 90999. The donation will be charged to your next carrier bill. Message & data rates may apply.

Update: September 5, 2019

We are assessing the impact of the rainfall and flooding caused by Hurricane Dorian’s landfall in the continental US. We can confirm that T-Mobile’s network held up very well in Florida. In the Carolinas, we are seeing some local interruptions and will work to get our teams on the ground to assist just as soon as it is safe.

Update: September 4, 2019

To help customers in the Bahamas affected by the devastating impacts of Hurricane Dorian who do not have an unlimited plan, T-Mobile will be waiving overage charges from roaming fees for voice, text, and data for customers in the Bahamas from August 30th through September 14th. We’re also waiving calling and text fees from the United States to the Bahamas through September 14th. We will continue to assess the needs of our customers in other locations as the storm progresses.

Text to give (DORIAN to 90999) is now supporting both domestic and international donations, including the Bahamas.

Update: September 2, 2019

As Hurricane Dorian continues on its path toward Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas we are continuing our work to ensure our employees, stores and facilities in those potentially impacted areas are well prepared for the storm conditions.

T-Mobile is also now supporting ‘Text to Give’ to help those affected by Hurricane Dorian. To donate $10 to the American Red Cross, text DORIAN to 90999. The donation will be charged to your next carrier bill. Message & data rates may apply. More information can be found at: http://www.mobilegiving.org/terms-and-conditions/

Update: August 28, 2019

Tropical Storm Dorian, was upgraded to hurricane status, with hurricane conditions possible in Puerto Rico and the risk of storm surge and hurricane-strength winds along the Florida east coast on Monday.

We are monitoring the situation very closely and hope everyone in the region stays safe over the coming days.

T-Mobile teams are ready to respond in both locations and we have a range of recovery equipment and supplies on hand including generators, network recovery equipment and community response trucks, should they be needed in the aftermath of the storm.

T-Mobile stores in Puerto Rico are closed today and it is possible that some will remain closed tomorrow, depending on conditions. If you are a T-Mobile or Metro by T-Mobile customer and you need assistance with your account or service, call 611 from your handset and we will be happy to help. Non T-Mobile customers who are interested in finding out more about our services can call 1-800-TMOBILE.

We understand how important it is for customers to stay connected in times like these and remind customers on Magenta, T-Mobile One, or Simple Choice plans that they always have unlimited talk, text, and data. Metro by T-Mobile customers also have unlimited talk and text on all plans.

T-Mobile is tracking Tropical Storm Dorian, which is currently forecasted to bring heavy storm and possible hurricane conditions to Puerto Rico and the Caribbean region in the coming days.

We understand that staying connected in moments like this is crucial to our customers, so we are working closely with the National Hurricane Centre to keep an eye on the storm. Our teams are preparing so they are ready to respond in the aftermath of the storm. We also recommend that our customers in these areas take steps now to prepare themselves for the storm’s potential impact:

  • Connect with local authorities’ social networks such as Facebook and Twitter to stay up-to-date on new developments before, during and after a disaster.
  • Make sure your phone supports Wireless Emergency Alerts and that you have enabled notifications on your device. Visit www.t-mobile.com/wea for details on how to set up alerts on T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile devices.
  • Set up Wi-Fi calling on your phone. For Apple phones, go to Settings > Phone > Wi-Fi Calling. For Android phones, go to Settings > More Connection Settings > Wi-Fi Calling.
  • Have charging cables handy and consider investing in a charging device like an external battery that doesn’t need a power outlet.
  • Update your contact numbers for family, friends and emergency services. Make sure they’re saved in a couple of places or devices.
  • If you’re planning to evacuate, let your family and friends know your evacuation plan, where you’re going and how to reach you.
  • Above all stay safe and take care of those around you who need support!
