Music Previews And Artist Packs Featuring Chart Topping Artists Via Mobile

Bellevue, Wash. — Feb. 26, 2004

Putting more boom in the box, T-Mobile and Sony Music announced today a strategic partnership that brings music from top Sony artists to mobile handsets throughout the United States and Europe. The deal marks another major mobile initiative for Sony Music, a leader in the mobile music space, and a significant expansion of T-Mobile's mobile music offerings.

This deal means that T-Mobile's customers in the U.S., through T-Mobile USA and in select European countries through T-Mobile International, will have access to a wide range of HiFi Ringers, the next generation of ringtones using original song clips, from top Sony Music artists such as Beyonce, Jessica Simpson, John Mayer, Incubus, and Nas, as well as a variety of other exciting content, including polyphonic MIDI tones, artist voice ringers, and wallpaper images.

"Cool artists and hot visuals are both things T-Mobile USA customers care about, and this deal with Sony Music gives our customers an even better selection of ring tones and HiFi Ringers, plus wallpaper from chart-topping artists. And, because it is T-Mobile, they get all this for a great price. This is just another reason we are known as the best value in wireless," said Michael Gallelli, T-Mobile USA's director of content marketing and acquistion.

As part of the deal, Sony Music and T-Mobile will partner to create a series of exclusive "Artist Packs" - each incorporating a collection of artist-related mobile offerings, including artist images, HiFi Ringers, and polyphonic ringtones, all for individual purchase, as well as text messages about the artist, contests and promotions based on the artist and artist-related prizes and premiums.

"We're excited to partner with T-Mobile to create this powerful and compelling new mobile music offering for T-Mobile customers, " remarked Thomas Gewecke, Senior Vice President, Business Development, Sony Music Digital Services. "This launch continues our history of innovation and leadership in the mobile space, and will enable our artists' fans around the world to, through our HiFi Ringers and other content, customize their handsets with the next generation of mobile entertainment."

T-Mobile's HiFi Ringers are available for $1.99 on the Motorola V300, Samsung E105, Samsung E715, and Nokia 3650. The T-Mobile Artist Packs will be available on all t-zones capable phones, and will be offered with t-zones' standard pricing.
