From Space to Your Pocket: T-Satellite Data Lands First on Pixel 10 at T‑Mobile

By Omar Tazi, EVP & Chief Product and Digital OfficerAugust 20, 2025

Google just shared their brand-new Pixel lineup—and yes, you’ll find them right here at T-Mobile, home of America’s Best Network. Like most modern smartphones, the Pixel 10 is now ready for T-Satellite with Starlink connectivity right out of the box, right from day one. For other devices, that means messaging and location sharing, but for Pixel 10, there’s more…

For those that tuned into our press event earlier this summer, we publicly committed to October 1 as the day when satellite data — meaning the data that powers smartphone apps sent and received from satellites in space — would come to nearly all T-Satellite customers. That’s still true but now with a happy asterisk.

Here’s the surprise: with new device and mobile operating system (OS) season upon us, think Android 16 and iOS 26, some devices are going to be data-ready sooner than October 1. And this capability is far too important to hold back. If your phone supports T-Satellite data, you can use it even prior to the official data launch this Fall.

The first such device is here! The Pixel 10 is now officially T-Satellite data-ready.

That news begs the question: Why is T-Satellite Data ready on the Pixel 10 but not yet other satellite-compatible devices? Let me explain…

To get your phone to communicate with satellites orbiting the earth at 17,000+ mph, 200+ plus miles away in space and working on multiple OSes across literally dozens of different smartphones requires, as you might expect, quite a bit of coordination and engineering. Namely the phone OS and manufacturer’s own software both need to be updated.

Once those things happen, T-Satellite data is live on your phone.

And then there’s the apps. We’ll talk in much more detail about them and the burgeoning ecosystem in October but as an appetizer before that main course, Google has tuned several of its most popular, and most useful, apps to ensure they run smoothly over satellite. Google Maps, Messages and Find Hub are all now available for use with T-Satellite.

So to summarize, if you get a Pixel 10 here in a week, in addition to the standard T-Satellite messaging and location services, you can use several Google apps, including Maps, when you’re out of normal cell range, be it up in the mountains, out on the lake, driving in the boondocks, working out in the fields or wherever you may be… if you can see the sky, you’re connected.

If you don’t have a Pixel 10, your time is coming soon. Stay tuned!
