What a game, and what a moment for the Pacific Northwest. Congratulations to the Seattle Seahawks on an unforgettable victory and a championship performance on the biggest stage in sports.
For every touchdown, field goal and clutch defensive play, T-Mobile customers lit up America’s Best Network by streaming, sharing and celebrating more than ever during this year’s Big Game. From kickoff to the final whistle, customers used about 11 terabytes of data in the stadium, a nearly 70 percent increase year over year and more than double the usage seen just two years ago. That’s equivalent to streaming thousands of HD movies or more than 70,000 hours of music. With 95 percent of devices on 5G, up from 83 percent in 2024, data demand surged during the biggest moments, peaking in the second and fourth quarters as fans shared highlights and reactions in real time.
Now, that same level of performance and preparation is coming home. As the city comes together this Wednesday to celebrate the team’s victory, we’re proud to help keep fans and first responders connected while public safety teams focus on keeping the celebration running safely and smoothly.
“Big moments create big demand, and that’s exactly what T-Mobile’s network is built for,” said Salim Kouidri, Senior Vice President of Technology at T-Mobile. “The Big Game showed what our network and our people can deliver when it counts. As Seattle celebrates the Seahawks, our priority is to ensure first responders and municipal teams have the connectivity they need, while fans stay connected to the moments that matter.”
Large-scale celebrations like the Seahawks World Champions Parade bring excitement and increased demand for connectivity. That’s why teams across T-Mobile began preparing weeks ago, optimizing and reinforcing the network across the region to support fans, city partners, and first responders with multiple layers of resiliency.
Here’s how T-Mobile is supporting parade day operations:
- Game Plan: Optimizing and expanding network capacity across key areas using advanced automation and Self-Organizing Network (SON) capabilities.
- Priority Coverage: Enabling T-Priority, T-Mobile’s first-of-its-kind 5G priority service for first responders that provides priority access and preemption for voice and data during periods of heavy network demand.
- Real-Time Adjustments: Monitoring network performance and conditions in real time using advanced analytics and automation, with teams ready to respond if needed.
- Special Teams: Positioning dedicated technical teams throughout the city for rapid response.
- Bench Depth: Staging additional emergency response assets, including SatCOLTs and COWs (mobile cell sites) and VSATs (satellite connectivity), to provide temporary service if needed.
We’re working closely with municipal partners to ensure critical locations such as command posts, staging areas and key public safety sites are included in our planning. We’re honored to support first responders and public safety teams as they lead this celebration, and we look forward to celebrating alongside the community.
