John Legere Brings His Un-carrier Touch to the Fight Against ALS

August 28, 2014

Today, the ALS Association recognized a select group of donors, including T-Mobile president and CEO John Legere, who went above and beyond in their personal donations to help the Association reach a mind-blowing $100 million dollars in total donations.

A few weeks ago, in true Un-carrierTM fashion, John took the #ALS #IceBucketChallenge after being challenged by CNBC’s Carl Quintanilla, getting drenched with buckets of ice water by the brave employees at T-Mobile's J.D. Power award-winning customer care center in Oakland, Maine.

John then passed the challenge to fellow telecom CEOs Lowell McAdam of Verizon, Randall Stephenson of AT&T and Marcelo Claure of Sprint. But, he didn’t stop there. John personally donated $100,000 to the ALS Association and put his own unique spin on the fundraiser by asking nine other CEOs to match his gift and help raise a million extra bucks for the ALSA – the ALS $1M CEO Challenge.
