Before changing your number, keep the following in mind:
Number changes may take 2-4 hours
Additionally, online account details such as device, line, rate plan, promotions, iMessage, and Caller ID can take up to 24-72 hours to reflect on your account. You will be required to log in with your new number.
Save voicemails you want to keep
Voicemails from your old number will be deleted. The voicemail password will be reset to the last four digits of the new phone number, which you can change. Don’t forget to set up a new greeting.
Billing information
Your bill will show plan and feature charges prorated for both the old and new number.
Turn off two-factor authentication
Before changing your mobile number, turn off two-factor authentication and update the new number on all third-party accounts that use it for verification or notifications.
