Building cell towers and network infrastructure for your community.

Building and improving network infrastructure benefits everyone. Strong connectivity fuels economic growth, keeps us safer, and makes life easier and more enjoyable for all. As a leader in wireless networks and 5G, T-Mobile is committed to using our scale, technology, and resources for the good of communities everywhere.

Cell site planning and permitting

Our local teams are wireless experts who understand what it takes to plan and build new infrastructure in your community that benefits everyone. We’re there for you each step of the way, guiding you through the process.

Planning and building better wireless takes a community.

Is your community planning to improve its mobile network—or should it be? Good cell service requires the right infrastructure. We’re committed to collaborating with your community on the where, when, and how of building a new cell tower or upgrading existing sites.

Quick Guide: How Wireless Works in Your Community.

At T-Mobile, we are committed to using our network expertise and technologies for the good of communities everywhere. Our Quick Guide covers all the basics: how wireless networks work, the ways a connected community benefits all residents, and the steps involved in the planning and permitting process for building or upgrading wireless sites.

Health, security, and the environment.

Global bodies and government agencies around the world have been monitoring the impact of radio frequency on human health and the environment for decades. At T-Mobile, we go above and beyond what’s required and recommended to keep us safe, secure, and connected.

Cell towers, public safety, and how to know what to believe.

Worried about living near a cell tower? Some online sources still question the safety of the radio frequencies that power 5G and other wireless networks. The best way to address those concerns is to learn and share the facts.

Cell towers and property values.

Finding clear, consistent information about how cell towers affect property values can be challenging. Even among real estate experts, opinions can vary.

While perspectives on cell towers may vary, it’s clear that homeowners care about their coverage and signal strength, especially since many residents depend on mobile devices for both communication and to access other digital services. In fact, most emergency calls are now made from cell phones.

We work with communities to find the balance between site aesthetics and wireless coverage and capacity. When we build a new site, we try to take advantage of existing structures before building a new freestanding site. We also prioritize sharing space with an existing carrier’s site before building a new one.

Some landowners can even directly benefit from allowing a new cell site to be placed on their property. If a proposed site is optimal for expanding coverage, and the landowner agrees, we will pay to lease the property at a competitive monthly rate.

Securing the backbone of wireless connectivity.

Our wireless network—including its nationwide infrastructure of cell towers—is protected by layered continuously evolving security measures designed to defend against cyber threats and ensure service reliability.

Our cybersecurity approach integrates advanced technologies, industry best practices and proactive risk management to help safeguard your data, applications and connectivity. To ensure complete transparency into our efforts, we launched the T-Mobile Trust Center | Powered by SafeBase, a hub featuring  our cybersecurity certifications, reports, audit summaries, and security scores—providing visibility into our security posture and commitment to customer trust.

Key initiatives include:

DDoS mitigation—We implement real-time traffic monitoring, rate limiting, bot protection, and geofencing to detect and mitigate distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks. Our practices align with  the OWASP Top 10+ framework for addressing common and critical web vulnerabilities and  security risks.

Infrastructure hardening—All production and lab systems undergo regular vulnerability and port scanning using industry-recognized tools. Strong authentication protocols are enforced across our infrastructure in alignment with Zero Trust principles, with continuous oversight to identify and remediate misconfigurations or insecure credentials.

Physical security—Cell sites are protected with access controls, surveillance systems, and operational safeguards to prevent unauthorized physical access.

Security operations—A 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC) monitors for threats and coordinates rapid response using advanced analytics and automation.

Regulatory complianceT-Mobile aligns with federal and industry frameworks including PCI-DSS, NIST 800-171, CPNI, and CMMC to support secure, compliant operations.

The rules that keep you safe and connected.

We partner closely with communities to ensure full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations created by federal, state, and local governments and regulatory authorities.

The rules and regulations governing cell infrastructure.

Every new cell tower going up in your community must follow rules and processes that keep you both safe and connected. The federal and local regulations dictating where, when, and how wireless infrastructure is built were created to protect public health and safety, while also removing unnecessary barriers to expanding your community’s wireless capacity and coverage.
