Now, Z Fold6 has arrived with an even bigger screen, an ultra-light and ultra-slim design, and the coolest Galaxy AI features to boot—opening up a whole new level of fandom. But what’s even more impressive is the portability factor of the Z Fold6, which got a nice boost. Even with the larger screen, the Z Fold6 managed to get slimmer (5.6mm unfolded) and lighter (239 grams) than its predecessor, making it feel more natural and more like a regular phone in your hand. It’s also a little more durable with an IP48 vs. IPX8 rating (X means no protection from dust). The Z Fold6 camera also gets a ProVisual Engine for flawless zooming, plus the latest and greatest Galaxy AI capabilities (that debuted with the S24 series) come ready-to-go on this phone—along with some new ones. Here are some cool features you’ll love: - __Photo Assist__ delivers effortless editing with literally the touch of your finger. - __Sketch to Image__ lets you sketch from scratch—or even on a photo—and Galaxy AI transforms it into an image (e.g., draw a cloud in the sky on one of your photos and AI naturally incorporates it into the picture.) - __Circle to Search with Google__ on the massive interior screen. - __Interpreter__ lets you chat in another language while FlexMode displays your language on one screen and theirs on the other. - __Note Assist__ lets you jot down notes, shopping lists and more while Galaxy AI automatically organizes and summarizes it all. - __Portrait Studio__ turns your selfies into stylized works of art like cartoons, watercolors, etc. - __Instant Slo-mo__ adds drama to any video with a tap of your finger. - __Live Effect__ instantly creates depth bringing any photo to life. With all the nice upgrades, you’ll pay more for the Z Fold this time around—with prices starting $100 higher. Sure, it’s a little heavier, it doesn’t have the newest chipset, and the outer screen isn’t quite as big as the new version. But the inner screen is on par, unfolding to a huge 7.6-inches, just like that of the Z Fold6. Storage and battery stats are the same, as are the cameras overall. However, the Z Fold5 doesn’t have some of the upgraded AI-powered camera features that the Z Fold6 has (e.g., ProVisual Engine) for flawless zooming. Many of the latest Galaxy AI features have been pushed to this phone, so you’ll still get to enjoy things like Circle to Search, Live Translate, Note Assist and more. But you’ll be missing out on a few newer ones right now, like Portrait Studio, Live Effect and Sketch to Image. Whether you stick with your current Z Fold5 or decide to upgrade to the Z Fold6, you’re still getting a really great phone!
