While it has the same 6.7" display as iPhone 14 Pro Max and a similar pro-camera setup, the amazing telephoto lens takes it further with 5x vs. 3x optical zoom capabilities—giving you the longest optical zoom of any iPhone ever. While both phones have textured matte-glass backs, this device features a gorgeous titanium shell, versus the stainless steel offered on the 14 Pro Max, plus *slightly* more battery power than the other phone at 4,422mAh. But the big difference comes in its support for USB-C charging. The 15 series is the first Apple series with USB-C charging, which is the universal standard, making it easy to charge all your devices (from your iPhone to your Nintendo Switch, to your AirPods and Apple Watch) with the same cable. Unlike the 14 Pro Max, the 15 Pro Max also supports USB 3 for superfast charging (up to 10Gb/second) and supports Qi2 wireless charging, which iPhone 14 Pro Max does not. It also has the latest A17 Pro chip, which is said to be up to 10% faster than the A16 Bionic chip on the previous phone—and it has 256GB capacity standard vs. the 128GB offered on iPhone 14 Pro Max. As you’d expect, iPhone 15 Pro Max will cost more than the other option—but if that telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, plus the latest A17 Pro chipset, universal charging, and titanium design have you hooked—the choice is easy.
