T-Mobile is ending its participation in the federal Lifeline program on December 31, 2022 and will no longer provide Lifeline discounts after that date. T-Mobile will provide you a courtesy credit in the amount of your Lifeline discount after December 31, 2022 for a period of 60 days and after that time the credit will be removed from your account.
You may choose to remain a T-Mobile customer and receive service under your current rate plan without the Lifeline discount, or you may cancel your service with T-Mobile. You may be able to obtain Lifeline service from another provider if you still qualify for the program. For instance, Assurance Wireless provides service through the Affordable Connectivity Program that offers free unlimited data, free unlimited texts and calls, free 10GB of mobile hotspot data and a free Android phone. There is no charge to switch providers and you may maintain your current telephone number. For more information on Assurance Wireless, please visit www.assurancewireless.com. In addition to Assurance Wireless, there are other providers that offer Lifeline service in Pennsylvania. You can find information about other Lifeline service providers in Pennsylvania through the Universal Service Administrative Company’s website at https://www.usac.org. If you choose to obtain Lifeline service through another service provider, T-Mobile will not impose any fees for the transition of your service.
