Has T-Mobile stopped selling the iPhone SE?
Last week, we had the SE in our cart to replace my wife's iPhone 8 - we were about to order it and pay in full on the spot. I don't know what made us forget to press 'buy' in the end. So, I went back to it today. 1) I found the product is no longer in our cart. Though we are getting strange texts congratulating us on our new phone? (trying to encourage me to pair it with a new smart-watch!) This is CRM run-amok. 2) Worse, the product comes up as available; even has an estimated date for delivery... But today there is NO mechanism (button) available to actually purchase it; add it to cart and complete the transaction. Cynical View: Is Apple blocking SE sales to force loyal customers to purchase more expensive models; just like Apple used less-than-ethical means to sundown their older products by forcing updates that hurt power-management etc.? Is T-Mobile in collusion because that plan would synch users to longer contracts to pay off the new phones? And does it mean T-Mobile's CRM apparatus is just THAT mercenary and ill-informed to target people who haven't actually ordered yet? This is the point at which as an Apple user I begin to feel like an abused spouse... 'no, they're not that bad. They have good heart... it's just they have needs... and I understand that... and I've been in this house so long... it will be okay.' Cautiously Optimistic View: Is the SE just out of stock and that's why the site won't let us purchase it or add it to the cart -- contrary to the estimated delivery date of 17 June on the website? Naive View: Is the website just broken? Realist and Sad View: I know EU was having Union Issues and had to take the SE out of circulation in 26 'countries/city-states.' and I'm sure China's on-again/off-again tariff situation may be part of the equation. I know Apple stopped making the 256 model a couple months ago. Nevertheless, T-Mobile's website doesn't offer this explanation and shows the phone as available. Does anyone know the truth?75Views0likes2Comments
