Re: Tmobile network in Aruba
Cellular service in Aruba is provided by carriers Digicel and Setar. T-Mobile has no native service there, rather they roam one or both of the local carriers. Postpaid roaming in Aruba (depending on your plan) has free texting, free but maybe slow data and 25¢/min calls. If you have an unlocked phone you can also get a local SIM. Digicel seems to be the only carrier offering eSIMs in Aruba.143Views0likes0CommentsRe: Service in Boleslawiec, Poland
I suggest buying a local eSIM for data service. That is, if your phone supports installing an eSIM. This greatly un-complicates data service as your data does not have to travel half-way around the world before connecting to the net. It also provides redundancy of connection.41Views0likes0CommentsRe: Data not working in Qatar
Have you used a PING utility to check data connectivity or just you're not getting websites? When I was in London last year I had a period where I just couldn't get any throughput. I bought a one-day Data Pass and that helped. I didn't need the Data Pass once I left London.70Views0likes0CommentsRe: Customer representative lying about international call charges
It's screwy that they charge $3/min for international calls from the US and 25¢/min when calling from abroad. I guess they really want to sell that Stateside-International add-on. I just use Google Voice. Things get said by sales reps that are downright wrong, which is why you should always go with what's written down.75Views1like0CommentsRe: International Data
Most postpaid plans have free data & text, and 25¢/min talk in Vietnam. You need to confirm with customer service if your particular plan is included. I recommend having some sort of backup plan, such as a prepaid data eSIM from a 3rd party, such as one of the local carriers.70Views0likes0CommentsRe: HOw to contct customer service abroad????
When you are abroad there is a special number you are supposed to call for support (+1-505-998-3793). This is a free call from any T-Mobile phone, either on the cellular network or using WiFi Calling. When I consider all the things that have to work just right for international roaming to work, it amazes me that it works at all. I always recommend that international travelers have a backup plan for everything, including communications. In case you are not aware, the economy of Argentina is on the brink of collapse. There could be some financial reason that roaming is not working. (Just a WAG)129Views1like0Comments
