Trade in deception?
After reviewing the discussions in this forum it appears that I have fallen into what appears to be a common deceptive practice by T-Mobile. On 5/2/25 I decided to accept a limited time upgrade promotion. Terms for the new device are, free upgrade after receipt of approved trade device, activation fee and sales tax to be paid. I pay the fees online and set up a pick up at a local T-Mobile store. On 5/4/25 I pick up the new device, activate it and I'm told T-Mobile will send packaging to ship my trade in. All is well. On 5/10/25 I ship the fully functional, undamaged device in the packaging supplied vis UPS Store. On 5/14/25 I receive an email confirming my device has been received and processed. On 5/17/25 I receive an email requesting I ship my trade in device (has already been received and processed). Now T-Mobile is billing me for the new device. I return to the store and I'm told they can't correct the issue as they can't access the system in that way. After nearly 20 years with 4-5 lines on my account I will be looking for another carrier if this isn't corrected. I can't seem to get a human to respond. It isn't a lot of money but it's a really sleazy way to treat customers and appears to be common practice as I read through this forum. Very disappointed.294Views2likes5Comments
