When I first setup network I could log into T-Life App on my iPhone with face recognition and access the Gateway without entering the password. Now I have to enter password every time even though the remember password is checked and I’m logged into T-Life app.67Views0likes1CommentAccess OpenVPN server behind T-mobile Home Internet
Currently, I am testing T-Mobile 5G Home Internet. Here is what I found while I am doing testing: 1. CG-NAT, I am getting 192.168.12 IP on my router WAN 2. NAT444, NAT after NAT, even whatismyip.com gives me a public ip which is the tower public ip, not my modem/gateway Ip. 3. On my Asus router, I turn on IPv6, so I have a public IPv6 My setup: 1. Internet <-> T-Mobile (modem/gateway 192.168.12.) <-> Asus router (192.168.1.0/24) 2. I have Ipv6 on my router, which is a public 2607:fb91:82ae:1493 3. I have OpenVPN server setup on the router. (I tested by access 192.168.12.x from my internal network which works, but it doesn’t work when I use the public IPv6 Ip) 4. I have firewall disabled to make sure things work first Goals: 1. I can access my internal network from a public location, so I can get files on my harddrive (attach to the router USB port) 2. Access other web which has region check and I was oversea Questions: 1. How may I OpenVPN into my router from public so I can access my network resource? 2. Any other suggestions?2.6KViews0likes5CommentsCertain devices got kicked off T-mobile Home Internet
I got several devices connected to my T-mobile home wifi. Only two of them got kicked off WIFI and it happened multiple times. Always that two devicesand all other devices are completely fine. These two are android phones but other android devices have no problem. Afterthey got kicked off, it says wrong wifi password when I tried to re-connect. Every time I had to unplug and replug the gateway to have them reconnected. Anyone has the same issue and how to solve it?126Views0likes1CommentThis network is blocked due to unaddressed abuse complaints, will a different router set to static fix?
Hoping someone can answer this for me. My household is continuously getting the “this network is blocked due to unaddressed abuse complaints...” It is now got to the point where we can make certain purchases. (i.e. Walmart website) As far as I understand this is all to common based upon how TMO runs their home internet. My question is, if I use something like Google Home Mesh Router system, hardwire the Google Mesh system into the TMO Gateway, change the Google Mesh Router from DHCP to Static, would that fix the issue or no? If no, sad. So sad. Could anyone help with some way of fixing this issue? My wife is getting angry because she can’t shop online…Our bank account is looking nicer, but it’s getting hostile within the house…=)350Views0likes0Commentsinternet router stops at 12:30 AM
The Router will stop providing internet to ethernet devices at 12:30 AM and will not provide an internet connection for hours but it only happens to ethernet devices and restarting the router or unplugging the router or ethernet cable does not fix the problem.51Views0likes0CommentsNew Internet Customer - Recommendations?
Hi All, New TMHI customer here. I’m in my current trial period and really want to make sure I’m maximizing my speed with T-Mobile’s internet. So far everything seems to be good! I figured I’d go to the community to see if there are any tips for maximizing my speeds and ensuring I have the best possible connection. I do have a Netgear C6250 modem/wifi router with Xfinity right now but I’m not sure if this is compatible with T-Mobile. A little background, myself and my partner mainly use internet for streaming (Netflix, Hulu, etc.) gaming (Xbox Series X + PS5), and browsing/work. Typical night is I’m gaming and she’ll be watching a show on Hulu or something. I tried it out this afternoon and I did notice some stuttering while I was playing online and she was watching a show. I figured I’d reach out here to see if anyone has recommendations in terms of settings or even a recommendation for a new router. I’m not cancelling my Xfinity just yet because I do want to see how good the internet is with T-Mobile first and if I can get it in a sweet spot. I did follow the recommendation and the gateway is on an upper floor by a window. Look forward to any recommendations and suggestions!290Views0likes4CommentsHigh-Speed Internet Gateway does not work with some apps on T-mobile Home Wifi Internet
I don’t know if anybody can help. Encountered a few deal breaking moments with T-mobile Home Wifi internet. I get a whopping 100-235mbps with my High-Speed Internet Gateway but it prevents full access to apps causing extreme lag spikes, pages not loading and video not playing with Amazon Prime Video (on PS4 and on Amazon Fire Stick 4k), TD Ameritrade trading platform for Windows 10, and to a lesser extent apps like Epic Games on PC I also have T-vision TV package, that works fine. So does Netflix. Epic games was able to be fixed once telling PC to use Google DNS 8.8.8.8. and 8.8.4.4. respectively. I had to use Nord VPN to get TD Ameritrade to function correctly without freezing at times, DNS change did not work here. Amazon prime video is still a no go, constantly stops and takes a long time to load again only to stop again. DNS change also did not resolve the issue. It should still work with Nord VPN because it bypasses all T-Mobile filters, but I did not buy T-mobile Home WiFi internet to need the VPN all the time, so I did not bother trying VPN with Prime Video. Is that something we can possibly fix in firmware? And soon please? Speaking of firmware. There is no place to get a new Firmware update which the High-Speed Internet Gateway critically needs. It lacks too many features. One the most needed features is to allow the High-Speed Internet Gateway to turn in just a modem and turn off all routing features so that users can bring their own independent routers to handle DHCP and other advanced functions. High-Speed Internet Gateway also has a bug where I can not fully disable all of the WiFi Signals. You can stop broadcast and SSID from being announced and reduce the radio power for 2.4ghz and 5ghz from 100% down to 12% but it is still not entirely off. I can still see a 5ghz band displaying a signal and allows me to connect when WiFi is supposed to be disabled. Apparently there is a 5Ghz low and 5Ghz high antenna mode. And the 5ghz high is the one that remains visible and usable. Can not be turned off. I don’t want to use the hub for wifi, just want to use hard wired internet. I hope to see these issues addressed in the next firmware update with a resources on where we can obtain the new firmware update file as right now there is no information on that anywhere for the new High-Speed Internet Gateway. At the very least I want to see the simple feature of turning the gateway into a modem all by itself and I can handle all the routing on my end instead and if it comes to it I can do a whole house VPN that way and bypass all the problems. Older gateways had the expert mode from what I could see, please bring that back too if you can. Thank you for reading! And for the help! Mike P.S. I have already tried turning it off and back on again, obviously does not work. VPN seems to be the only way to bypass all the problems, but since the unit can not disable routing to act solely as a modem, I can not use a separate router for DHCP and to run VPN for the whole house.9.3KViews7likes21CommentsDO NOT GET T MOBILE. INFO FOR GAMERS. It Doesnt work AT ALL
I got the 5g Gateway and I cant do anything i Need to. I cant Play On My Ps4 OR Stream On twitch. It Says My NAT Type is “type 3” my Ping is EXTEREMELY HIGH On everything. I Only Switched to this because AT&T goes out every time it rains and takes forever to come back on. THIS SERVICE IS EVEN WORSE. id rather deal with outages instead of nothing working at all. This Service is a COMPLETE rip off and I would NEVER recommend it to ANYBODY IN THE WORLD. I've Only Had it For a Few Hours and I've been frustrated Ever since I turned it on. This Has been the worst Internet experience I ever had in my entire life.509Views2likes1CommentCan't Play Basic Online Games Because of Nat Type Issue
Don't know much of anything about networking, just know I can't play super Smash Brothers and other games on my Nintendo switch! I have the newest T-Mobile home internet router, the black rectangular one. Streaming content works just fine, browsing the internet works just fine, but gaming of pretty much any kind seems to be impossible, and I always get an error message stating that my Nat Type is incorrect or something of that nature. What can I do to fix this? I can create a hotspot on my phone and play Nintendo switch online just fine, surely I can do it with their advanced router.2.1KViews1like1Comment
