I am trying to understand this. i was on an international call for over 3 hours. I thought since it was a WiFi call I would not get charged expensive international rates. After my call, I received a text that my call cost me $636.00.. That’s $3 a minute charge. I think that is kind of outrageous for a WiFi call. Is this standard in the industry? I just want to understand this practice. if they call me do I get charged the same or is it free because I am the one who answered the call? Help me understand how this all works to see if I need to pursue other avenues to communicate with friends abroad I have made over the years. Thank you for your time.42KViews1like13CommentsBeing Charged for Web Calling
I have been using web calling for at least 3 years to call my mother in the UK from the USA. This week I started to get charged for these web calls. This is unacceptable, and very annoying. The tech I spoke to confirmed that the calls were wifi calls and should not have been charged. But it is still happening. I will probably have to drop my T-Mobile service if this continues.Solved181Views0likes1CommentIncoming calls while abroad
I am going to India, but will need my mobile number to receive calls from the USA. I have a couple of questions - Will the person calling from the USA be able to call me normally, and will he/she be charged extra for the call? If I receive the call, what would I be charged? If I keep my phone on airplane mode and connect to wifi, will wifi calling work (wifi calling is free as far as I understand)? I am on the ONE plan (family plan) without any add-ons as of now.7.2KViews1like3CommentsInternational data pass calls dropped
Hi, Do you guys use T-Mobile aboard? I’m in Poland right now using international data pass. I have 5G most of the time on my phone and internet works OK, but calls show wrong phone number. T-Mobile told me to use WiFi calling, but when I call out to local numbers in Poland it does not show my phone number but random number from Germany, India, etc. Not even from Poland. Today, someone from US called me and on my phone it showed +31 country code.. Also, when I’m not in WiFi range I can’t use WiFi calling and every incoming call is being dropped at exactly 5 minutes and 6 seconds mark. T-Mobile rep told problem with caller id name is on the receiving end which I don’t think is true since problem is with phone number not name. Also, if he is right and number was incorrect on incoming call.. then it’s T-mobile problem.. This is not the service level I was expecting on business account paying extra for data pass. Anyone has similar issues? dArF1k99Views0likes0CommentsInternational rates over WiFi calling
Hi, I’m very confused about the international rates when making a WiFi call to a number overseas on a T-Mobile One plan. According to the support page, which I have read a thousand times, wifi calls are billed at 0.20$ per minute to most countries. But I’ve been now billed over $200 (over 3.00$ per minute) for one call to a Netherlands mobile and a second call to a Switzerland landline. How is this possible? If the policy on the website is incorrect, it should be fixed. I would also ask to be reimbursed for these two calls as the policy was misleading (I would have called from another phone had I not already read the policy and been assured the rate would be 0.20$ per minute. text and link below: l If you have a T-Mobile ONE or Simple Choice rate plan: From any Simple Global country to any other country are $0.20/min (same as cellular). From non-Simple Global countries to other countries are charged at World Class rates. Wi-Fi Calling How do I get this resolved? The customer care people I’ve spoken to can’t figure out what I’m talking about. LauraSolved32KViews0likes28Comments
