Hello community. I am trying to connect my wireless printer. The wireless installation asks for a WPAkey. Since I don’t have a WPSbutton on my gateway, how would I find this key? Hello Community - I recently purchased the home internet away plan (since the standard service is waitlisted). This costs an extra $100/month above the normal plans. I was also planning on switching over phone lines from cricket to t-mobile consolidate. T-mobile appeared to be a good solution to address xfinity intermittently losing service in my area. Unfortunately, i have come to discover upon hooking up this hardware andxfinity hardware into a router, the t-mobile hardware does not allow the wifi to be disabled. This took a few hours to extract from the T-mobile support/tech team for what i would think is a basic feature. I've asked this many times over, but I still cannot get it to work. I need to know how to change the names of the devices connected to my TMobile Home Internet. I've named them all directly on the device itself, but that name doesn't show up on my internet list. Everything comes up as a bunch of numbers, or "unnamed device" and it makes it IMPOSSIBLE to figure out what is what. Every TV and computer and tablet in the house runs off this internet, so very often we run out of space and cannot connect anything new. If I knew which device was which, I'd be able to disconnect what isn't necessary to run 24/7, and what needs to stay connected. Anyone have any clue what to do?!? It's starting to make this affordable internet service not worth the savings because the stress, arguments, and tensionis making my household a place of contention :( Help!6KViews7likes15CommentsDoes T-Mobile have any plans to expose advanced settings on their gateways?
Is anyone able to provide a timeline for T-Mobile providing access to advanced router settings? (You know, the ones virtually all other ISPs provide) Currently T-Mobile’s home internet solution does not allow users to: Manage DNS settings Manage DHCP (IP addresses for client machines) Use any subnet other than 192.168.12.x connected directly to the gateway Put the gateway into bridge mode - this results in double network address translation (NAT) that breaks services like port forwarding and VPN Specify the channel to be used for wireless SSIDs (neither 2.4 nor 5Ghz) It would be really nice to know if T-Mobile has any intention of ever resolving these issues. Until they do, users will continue to be frustrated with just how inflexible and limiting the T-Mobile home internet solution actually is compared to other ISPs. When you factor in that most users get 150/30Mbpsas average bandwidth, T-Mobile’s low cost is actually not that low - most ISPs will provide 400/35Mbps for just a few dollars more. So, when can we expect to get real access, on T-Mobile Home Internet, to the configuration options that almost all other ISPs provide already? I've had the tmobile gateway for a while as I am usually on the move and it's pretty great to be slightly mobile with it however I upgraded to their newest gateway since then I have not been able to connect to the internet via my PC I've went through 4 hours of troubleshooting and If I am unable to figure this out I'm probably going to cancel the wifi services for tmobile (I'm connected to the internet through my computer and it says that the connection is secured however I cannot search anything up run any applications that require wifi etc)Solved303Views0likes2CommentsBe Careful when returning defective gateway routers
We’ve been home internet users for right at a year now. Ever since we got home internet through T-mobile, we have had issues with internet going out periodically. Generally, an unplug and wait for a couple minutes would solve the issue. About 3weeks ago, the internet went out and never came back on. We went roughly 24 hours without any re-connection, so I contacted T-mobile, went through all the troubleshooting steps, and they agreed to send a new gateway. The old gateway sat on top of my 6 ft tall ikea cabinet the entire time we had it, only being touched when we needed to reboot it. Once the new gateway arrived, I took the old one in the box provided and returned it to the local T-Mobile store. They packaged it up and sent it off. Today, I received an email stating my old gateway was damaged and I would be charged $79.00 on my next bill. I contacted a rep and they were able to send pictures of the “damage”. I explained to the rep that this gateway is never touched, never been dropped, etc., so how in the world could it have been damaged?! They responded with “Well that’s why we recommend returning to a store” which I told him again that I did return it to a store and everything was open/unboxed for them to inspect. The best excuse they could provide is maybe it got damaged in transit and I’m still on the hook for this charge…. LONG STORY SHORT…Take photos of your gateway if you have to return it. Photograph every single side of it, and return it to a store and have them visually inspect the gateway as well. I know well this thing was in pristine physical condition. The only thing wrong with it was whatever software issues it had when it was sent to us. The second photo in this post is the “Gross Physical Damage” that they claim is worth the $79.00 charge….
