T-Mobile Home Internet Review
I have been using T-Mobile Home Internet for a couple of months now. I recently upgraded to the 5G Gateway, which has made my WiFi much better Vs. the LTE Gateway which sucked and had a lot of restrictions. The 5G Gateway is sleek, easy to use, and comes included with your Home Internet Plan! My experience has been exemplary, apart from a few issues.
I have the following issues with T-Mobile Home Internet:
•No UPnP Option which causes issues using XBL.
•No Port Forwarding which causes a Moderate NAT on XBL
•Some VPN applications do not work.
•The Online GUI is limited and watered down. T-Mobile should really fix these issues, as it’s bothering other Customers as well. Overall T-Mobile Home Internet is great for those who don’t play on XBL, PSN, or PC or require a VPN to be used for work or personal use.

I stated 'testing ' TMobile Home Internet when they had the 4G.LTE version. It had a few issues, specifically with Hulu live, but wasn't bad. It was a free 2 month deal.
Later TMobile came out with 5g Home Internet and was sent an offer to try with 1 month free. It was pretty awful, as my tower was 4G.LTE only, and would also connect to 5g with really poor service from a different tower, and price was $60. Sent back.
Later, TMobile pushed an Xmas special of $25/month. Knowing id soon have 5g, i took them up. 2 months later, on 5g, it was 300Mbps.. not bad. I upgraded to 4gse vs. Arcadyan kvd21 and service was a 'bit' better until October 2024. Tmobile "patches " basically broke these devices, especially with vpn. Was given a g4ar, which started showing symptoms 1 month later. Tmobile sent me a dead gateway for replacement, and then the next replacement lost 4g lte, and finally another replacement and it is mostly usable. Tmobile also updated the tower recently and now im hitting between 800Mbps and 1gbps. I do hit vpn issues, typically in morning. It is Tmobile specific as i still have Spectrum base line, and i can switch between the 2. Tmobile 800Mbps --> 5Mbps. Spectrum 110Mbps --> 105Mbps.

Worst internet service I have ever had. Slow if it is connected. Can’t watch a movie without it loosing signal at least 10x. And when you talk to “tech support “ it’s just the same nonsense But to top it off one of my kids failed a final because of the terrible WiFi connection they were locked them out of their exam, for leaving the test. Not 1 person will tell you the same thing twice. Different response from every representative.

I have had T-Mobile 5G Home Internet for almost two years now. The first six months or so were so-so - much better than the extremely expensive 4G (Verizon) service I had previously - but still unstable. Some days I'd get downloads of 75 Mbps and others I'd get 15 Mbps. Uploads were painfully slow.
But - the system has evidently evolved nicely and now I consistently get 250-400 Mbps down and about 15 Mbps uploads.
We are six miles outside of town, so the choices are extremely limited for internet service. In time we've been told we would have access to fiber optic, but we would have to pay dearly to have the lines run from the highway .6 of a mile down our road, then several hundred feet up our driveway. That's not going to happen!!
So, I'm extremely pleased with my T-Mobile 5G Home Internet and we've ditched Dish Network and gone 100% streaming for our television. - Not_a_happy_camNetwork Novice
well we got there internet 6 months ago and it worked pretty good for awhile but had its drop outs and really bad slow downs and when i call tech support they would look into it and ask for the address of service and then they would tell us that not the address on file even tho the guy at the store who set it up for us had my id with address on it. well they put in our address and was ok for awhile and then it went out modem went crazy and had all kinds of stuff goin on so they sent a new 1 out and i set it up and while i was on the app i noticed that they messages had 2 on it already after i just set it up 1 said Russia as the number and im thinking there system is compromised as i called in a week or so after getting the new modem and the address had been changed again. well on Thursday 8/15/24 we got a message saying our service had been terminated due to the service locations address not being the same. i called and talked to a rep for like 20 minutes and he got kinda rude when i told him that there system must be compromised as the address has be changed several times and the rep at the store had my id and supposedly enter my address from my id and he wouldnt reactivate our service because of the address difference that was not our fault and was on there end but obviously they dont care enough to take care of there customers. he proceeded to say that since the service wasnt available in our area basicly were (stealing) taking away from the other customers around us. But theres no service in our area. So i wouldnt reccomend this service . Will be contacting our attorney to let them know that there service is compromised and alot of our stuff in the house isnt working right since we recieved the message from russia even tho we never opened it

Initially, the service seemed to deliver. Setup was easy, and speeds were impressive. Streaming 4K content and participating in video calls was seamless. However, within weeks, problems emerged. Speeds dropped drastically, sometimes to a frustrating 1-10 Mbps. Frequent disconnections disrupted my work and leisure activities. The once-reliable service had become unpredictable and unreliable.Seeking help, I contacted T-Mobile's customer support multiple times. Each interaction was met with long wait times and repetitive troubleshooting steps, but no real solutions. Despite escalating my concerns, the issues persisted.Researching online, I found many others shared my frustrations. Common complaints included inconsistent speeds, frequent disconnections, and inadequate customer support. Some speculated about network congestion or throttling, while others pointed to technical limitations in certain areas. This experience highlighted the gap between marketing promises and real-world performance. While T-Mobile's 5G Home Internet may work well for some, it fell short for me. Reliable internet is crucial for work, education, and entertainment, and this service did not meet those needs.

I started using my T-Mobile 5G home base internet on 08/23/2021. I have only encountered two issues. One was error message that the internal battery was not charging, and the second was receiving two (short code) five-digit SPAM SMS each day. T-Mobile blocked the SPAM SMS. The battery in the Nokia OEM silver device was never set up as a power backup. I just unplug the battery and that resolve the error issue. Getting 60 SMS text message a month would have cause problems.
My 5G home base works well. Good download and upload speed. 😀
As of April 25, 2024, T-Mobile is reportedly cracking down on using its 5G home internet on the go by verifying addresses. The company says this is necessary to ensure its network doesn't get overloaded, especially in areas that don't have the capacity to support Home Internet. T-Mobile will lock the gateway to the address on file using GPS on the router. To use the service at a different location, users will need to sign up for an away plan.
I wanted to inform users that several media outlets like CNET and PHONE ARENA price increases on some of its plans. GOOGLE: “t-mobile raising prices” to learn more.

Over the last 2 or three weeks our internet service is terrible, that’s why I’m looking at other experiences here. I use a ‘speed test’ on my phone when it lags and at times even the speed test will not respond. The range when it’s good is upwards of 40Mbps but there are times it is below 1.0Mbps.
Second, ANY time we use our microwave, all systems stop. Anyone else made that connection?
Thanks.

I have had T Mobile Home Internet since it's beginning. My original Gateway was overheating and dropping out. They sent me a new one and it has worked well for the past 3 years or so.
Then out of the clear blue the Gateway started doing the same thing dropping out then wait awhile and got would reconnet. No one could figure it out, so I stuck it in my freezer for 20 minutes then restarted it. All was well for a few hours then wammo dropped again.
I finally added 2 computer fans to the gateway and it has been working flawless since then.

What has happened to T-Mobile home internet?!?!
We've been using this service since nearly the beginning. We had had no issues in that time. However in the last 2 weeks the service has been nearly useless.
It's a very unstable signal, constantly kicking us out out work due to slow or no internet connection, which then loses all the data on the forms being filled out.
T-Mobile even had us swap out the original modem, with no improvements. I've now had to move the modem (from its perch of nearly 2 years) to a new floating shelf I had to install just to get a mediocre signal!
This is garbage that T-Mobile can't figure out what they did in the area over the last 2 weeks that totally screwed up this server for their end user.
The time has now come to separate from T-Mobile and return back to the dreaded cable internet with their ever exploding prices once the 1st year is up.
I should also note, the internet on the T-Mobile plan is not stable right now either and I am seeing the phone search through different networks at lower speeds.
Sincerely let down by T-Mobile,
Scott H.

We are on the magenta plan and decided to try the t-mobile 5 g home internet. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY IT IS GARBAGE! I couldn’t use it with my laptop without losing connection constantly. My tv was lagging when connecting to it too! Thank goodness I didn’t cancel my other service provider. T-Mobile is also very deceitful they sell you this junk of home internet by marketing a promotion and never deliver on anything they promised. I am considering looking for a new carrier for my cell phone service too since this company is not honest about the services they offer and don’t honor their promotions.
