Exposing ports on internet gateway

I would like to expose a port on my internet gateway to allow me to expose a VPN to allow access my desktop when traveling.  Accessing the configuration page I do not see any way to configure which ports are open and then port mapping.  Is there a way to get at the detailed internet gateway configuration capabilities?
