Voicemail asks me to call device to set up voicemail?

I have had my T-Mobile voice mail set up for many years. When I tried to connect to my voice mail on Aug 6th 2024 Philippine time. My voice mail asked me to hit star if I had a voicemail account? Then asked me to enter my ph# After doing so it said I had to call this device to set up my voice mail account? Why? I already have a voicemail account?
